@@Nonpeon And how long ago has that been? Elite teams hardly ever get beat by those teams. There is a reason we remember those games. Because it never happens. This Tulsa team was built up as some supposed quality win and a reason that Cincinnati was "screwed" out of a playoff berth. This State team a whipping boy in the SEC, and this supposed qua;ity team could not beat a 3 loss team.

@@joelaton1062 The issue is that the blue bloods DON'T want that smoke as it is a potential embarrassment. Secondly, having a playoff for all conference winners eliminates the TALENT excuse since a school (like Alabama) will not be able to horde talent as there will be no incentive to go to such a school under the assumption that that is the only way to make the playoffs. The 4-team INVITATIONAL is a joke and boring....

@@Nonpeon That will in no way make the talent pool even at other places. Facilities are not even across the country. Recruiting budgets are not the same across the country. Work ethic of coaches is not the same across the country. Development of players is not the same across the country. You really think a 5 star player that has a Bama or Ohio State offer, is gonna go to a bottom tier power 5 team, or god forbid a cupcake group of 5 team, just because they expand the playoff? You have plenty of years where there is potential of 3,4, or even 5 loss teams having a chance to win a conference. You want that in the playoffs? That is almost as bad as wanting group of 5 teams in that have not in any way, shape, or form, earned their way into the playoff. Other teams need to step up, not try to water down the elite teams because your team cannot beat them.
