Slamming that like button before i even watch the video. Okay, just want to mention that it is NEVER silly to give an injured horse rehab. If you think he needs healing and its something he can recover from, go for it. Your horse, your decision.

He may have been a nice breeding stallion. He’s smart, decently behaved, and seems to be Arabian. Could be wrong about breed, but that’s my guess. Arabians are quick and fairly adaptable horses.

You are one gutsy woman! I have nothing but respect for someone who would have the courage to buy such horses, along with the confidence to learn as you go as you begin the rehab process. You are way more than just clever, cowgirl! You are a force! I've watched quite a few of your videos, and I am humbled by your positive outlook in the face of such challenges. As for which horse to put under saddle first, my vote is for Studman. He looks great, and ready to embrace the work!

Thank you for saving this fella, I came across your channel by way of animal rescue feeds. Your narratives are so engaging, even for the farthest iota of a horse person. I am a lifelong NYC resident--I have gone on a trail ride in Montauk once as a teenager, and have 3 cats, but I love your passion, knowledge and tireless stewardship of these splendid creatures, even the worst horse is gorgeous and incredible to me. To imagine any of them going to a slaughter house is terrifically heartbreaking.

I could watch your videos non stop, they make me so happy. I'm a former jumper turned dressage turned too sick to ride with the goal of doing what you're doing when I sell my home and move out to the country with a friend who's also a horse lover. It's always been my dream to rescue horses. In the meantime I rescue cats and dogs. We rescued a gorgeous horse, literally off of a meat truck when I was young and that always stayed with me, he was such an amazing horse and to think, 5 more minutes and his fate would have been sealed. I truly love and admire all you do.l You have a heart of gold. Stud Man is gorgeous, I love that thick stud neck he has and you gave him his life back. They all seem so grateful, I think they know...which is heart breaking for those who don't make it but for those who do, you have their eternal gratitude and love!! I can't wait to see how he comes along with some training. I wish you all the best with every one of your gorgeous babies and look forward to seeing more videos. Much love and hugs from Montreal. xxx

I do have a soft spot for Skeletor because he's not as well socialised and is always picked on so, I'll choose him. Thanks again for a great video which exemplifies your wonderful temperment and understanding of horses and what they need and it's all packaged up in one so young: Power to you Cowgirl

I like this little horse! He looks really athletic to me, too. Every time a troubled horse comes my way, I also go back to square one. Round pen, lunging, ground driving before riding. Used to have great success bringing horses off the track this way (back in the old days when all upper-level H/J were OTTBs). Good luck with all your rescues. You don't know me, but believe it when I say that my own 65 years of looking at life through horses'' ears tells me I'm right when I say you really know what you're doing. Studman has my vote because ------just because. I really appreciate how much you educate yourself about anything that relates to your horses and their care. You make yourself ready for all the situations and problems you might come across with the purchase of "mystery horses" as you find them. Too many people are lazy about knowledge. To do the best care for our horses we must stay up to date on the latest available info from vet schools world wide as well as new farrier info. No horse can live well without the best feet they can have. You do such a great job reclaiming horses because you do all the study necessary. I wish I could buy one of your "recovered" horses but no such luck for me. But I can enjoy your videos and wish the best for you and all your horses. And not just thru the Holidays, but all year.

While doing animal rescue I found out that many people think a free or cheap animal "isn't worth" spending money on, as though it's an investment instead of a living creature with feelings. You go above and beyond for these guys and it's just wonderful! You're also very brave to do that hoof trimming that way on an unknown stallion! He's quite a beauty!

Skeletor under saddle (I'm interested to see how he does with some dressage), but Studman is a nice looking horse, even from the time you picked him up from the sales when he wasn't in great condition. I think he'll be really nice as well. I love the way you pick up the at risk ones and don't push them through their rehab to sale and restart/rehab them properly even though it takes a lot longer, so they should be well set up for life and a good home this time.

I'm easy as to which horse, although Studman is older and more developed. What i like is your patience. You know it's a long haul to get these horses up to better condition and to make sure they're not in pain. If I HAD to choose, its only through knowing Warmblood breeds ( The Trakehner in Skeletor, for those wondering what I am referencing.) are slower to mature. Being old school, I love Studman's conformation. He reminds me of the foundation Quarter Horses, the ranch and using/ all around horses. As far as your farrier skills? Beyond impressive! 🤩🤩CC, this is a hard choice between Skeletor or Stud Man for starting under saddle. The more recent story of Stud Man is a new type of decision for me vis-a-vis that teeny-weeny bone chip that showed up in the X-ray of one foot. This smallest detail, virtually unnoticeable by most, actually maps out the whole journey of health-care recovery for one inherently buckaroo stallion ~~ your gift is adopting an unknown stallion and turning a frog into a prince based on such informed intuition. Those temporary shoes to help heal his feet was such a DIY solution that must save you a lot of money (from your vet-tech background). The "glue" reminds me of the fiberglass coating my family put on a boat kit, also a DIY project for us. Lol, the previous owner, you determined made up a "fantastical tale" about Stud Man's trip; you knew that, too, and investigated to find his real point of origination. They moved him from a smaller auction to a bigger one where they knew he could get a higher price. These poor horses riddled with parasites / mites, are owned by people who have no right to own any horse as they do not give him the right vet care. At only 5 years of age, per his teeth, Stud Man has a good pasture life of grazing ahead of him with bff, thanks to you.

Oh what a beautiful boy Studman is, as always you have done an amazing job with him and given him the chance he deserves, it lovely to see them playing and bucking around enjoying life thanks to you, I would love to see him started under saddle first, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧

I vote for Studman first. You have done a wonderful work with him. What a beauty he is. So muscular. And now gas great feet thanks to you! He's come a long way. I love watching your videos!

As you asked, I think that starting Studman first would be wisest. He has a much better developed, more mature musculature - which of course he will have, having been a stallion for so long. Skeletor still looks as if he's got quite a lot of physical maturity to catch up on. Although it'd be good for him mentally to do groundwork, I think he'd find being worked from the saddle to be unhelpful, physically.

Skeletor has lost all sense of where his legs are since the last time he grew. Something he'll need to get straightened out before I sit on his for sure!

I am in love with Skeletor. But now… after watching this? Studman is amazing. He broncs, he bucks, he plays! He reminds me of my a horse back in the day way up in Massachusetts. However, he was so gentle with me! ❤

Not silly at all. In all the listening to you explain about these horses and the different shapes they’ve come to you in, and your attention to the smallest detail about the health of each, I trust your judgement thoroughly. I believe your knowledge, experience, and instinct (and what the horses tell you) is what you need to decide in exactly how to rehab these guys. Just great to watch and learn about for me!

I don't have any experience with horses (except for watching Steve Young Horsemanship videos) but I think what you've done with this horse is amazing. You've given this horse a second chance at having a good life. Everyone has the choice, or not, to make the world a better place, and you are one of the more amazing ones who take on that challenge.
