AUCTION MARE'S FIRST TRAINING SESSION!

Hey Horse Lovers! Today we are going to work with Belle for the FIRST TIME in the outdoor arena! There we will evaluate her current skills and also work on building her confidence and trust. Here is a little background: Belle of the Ball is a 7 year old Dapple Grey, Percheron X (we think Andalusian too) who is just under 16.2hh. I bought her at an auction a little over two weeks ago and TODAY we begin her training. In this video you will get to see her first ever evaluation session and you will also see how she does with being in a new environment. I will groom her, bond with her, and also walk her around, do some target training, and also lunge her. All I know about her history is that she has been used as a broodmare and has been ridden and driven at some point. I don't know how long it's been since she's been worked or handled so I am taking it slow and working on gaining her trust! Gosh she is so stunning! And she can move! She looks so different, the worry and wariness have gone completely from her expression. She trusts you a lot already. It’s so sweet you want to honor her original name with blue as a color! It’s interesting - to me it looks a lot like she had good training, even with using cues. And that she might have sit a while like you said. And of course you used different cues. She was so tuned in and very willing to figure out what you asked of her. And she picked up so fast what you asked of her! It would be so nice to get her previous owners a letter. If she would have been my horse and I had to sell due to not having enough hay - I would be so grateful to know she is in good hands!

Jimmy's not the only one infatuated with the beautiful Belle! I absolutely love her! She is an exceptional lady, that's for sure. May you and Belle have many good times together. This Belle is highly intelligent. Her black boots and her mane of differing shades, makes her catch the eyes from all those around her, both horse and human. She's developed a relaxed self confidence that combined with her intelligence, makes a really nice horse into a super great horse! She has spunk and pride, too. One can see it in her moves as she runs with excitement and joy, and she really wants to please you! I am so happy that you are the one who got her at the auction. She is whip smart! I think she will excel at whatever you ask her to do, although as an eventer I am biased and want to say she will do excellent at that 😂. It’s amazing how much more relaxed she is. You can see She feels so much more comfortable around you… she is incredibly in tune with you! I can’t wait to see you bring her along ♥️

Oh, that big, floaty trot and happy prancing after she got her shoes off! Clearly Belle likes being barefoot. I don't know if anyone else sees this, but see seems more Friesian to me: longer body and thicker and powerful lower body too; good for driving and riding -- the great all around horse. She is just getting more relaxed, much for inquisitive (as you pointed out, Shea) and is going to be a fantastic addition to your lessons etc. What a really lovely, sweet girl Belle is -- she was worth all those many auctions you went to, I think. I can't wait to see how much more trusting and relaxed she becomes under your kind hand.

For such a large and tall horse she s amazingly light footed , smooth as you say. She loves the training you're doing with her in the circle. The way she responds is so endearing . Wow, she wasn’t tied but still stood right there. I love watching her run, her tail held up and her head held high. I can see the change from when you first got her, she wouldn’t walk up to you but now it’s like she definitely wants to be closer to you. She seems to be settling in very well. I think she's bonding to you very fast. The way she reaches out and touches you with her nose with her ears forward or neutral says that she's happy to be with you. You have a lot of knowledge and yet you're in it to help horses and enjoy being with them, instead of trying to get the big bucks and hit the big shows and basically be a big shot. Instead you are very humble and caring. You are greatly appreciated!!!

Belle has the sweetest face. She came looking a little sad. Who knows what happened in her past but the most important is where she is now. They say a bond lasts a lifetime. I can see it here forming with you and Belle. She could have gone to the other horses, but she chose to be with you. I believe that she senses that you are a caring person and won't harm her. As nervous as she was when she came, I think that someone wasn't as nice with Belle as you are. My goodness she holds her tail, and snorts like an Arabian!! She looks, and acts so much like the gelding I had they could be twins! She’s stunning! I miss my horses. I was told in 2005 by my orthopedic surgeon I couldn’t ever ride again. I was devastated. I was 37 at the time, I’m now 55. Love the channel gives an older lady joy watching your interactions with these beautiful, amazing horses. Trust is a powerful thing! ❤
