The auctioneer is a newer caller. Running an auction is so much more than the skill of the call. So much work to put an auction together. And yes. I am an auctioneer.

@@FarmallFanatic that is very hard to get. Just fill in words. Everyone is different. When I went to school some people came in the class just rolling . Others like me. Sucked. Biggest thing to me is to be be clear and remember where you are on the bids. Are they going by the dollars . Hundreds or thousands. And when do you say Sold and move on. Some auctioneers are known to call it sold really quick if you don't jump in. Others will nickel and dime bids. I try to push fast. Buyers know they may miss out if they don't get right in. Just styles.

Those Ford Tractors are great. Way under rated. The internationals are great too, but if you had a few diff sized Fords, they all had the same 6.6 engine. Their is something to be said for commonality.

That's a nice auction In Ohio when my dad was buying and selling we was out there alot did good both ways up there buying and selling
@Mad_Farmer9122 жыл бұрын
I wanted my dad to buy the new 7710 just like that one, 4 wheel drive, series 2 that the dealer had on the lot when we bought this one but he didn't like the $36k price. The dealer found this one, 3 years old and new at another dealer and Ford had big discounts to clear the older models so we bought this one. I almost put a proxy bid of $500 on the 510 drill for fun of it and see if I get lucky. I figured it would do at least what I brought.

Good of you to make the trip to this auction. That auctioneer has poor cadence. Good deal on the IH drill. The 5610 was the better tractor deal. I think the others were overpriced relative to the market for them or over priced relative to age and condition. But that's farm auctions for you. They always leave you scratching your head.

Yes the JD went for 200+k and yes u can't work on them. But, what else would u farm 3000+ acres w/? Certainly not 70 yr old Farmall's. Like "Just A Few Acres", yourself and many other small holding farms, antique equipment is great. I have 1966 DB 990A. It fulfills all my farming needs, but I only have 35 acres. If I had 2000+ acres, I'd have to buy new equipment. That's just the way it works.

I'd rather buy two or three good old 20k tractors and have 140k to spare. By design it's go huge or go home so that small farmers can't survive. Same in all business nearly now. No small shops or anything small left.
