Back when I was a wee lad one of my buddies brothers had a new F150 pinstriped like that red one, his was black with white pinstriping and red interior if I remember correctly. 400 auto had a factory hd suspension and white wagon wheels with bigger tires. It would roast all four tires when locked in 4x4. He traded it four a black and silver bronco and lifted it

An Orange '70 Dodge Charger is sitting in the yard at an old country home about 4 miles from me. It's been sitting in the same spot for more than 40 years. Long enough that a tree has grown up thru the windsheild and had separated the front of the car from the rest of it. The car had never moved from that spot as long as I can remember, and I'm 59 yrs old. Tried to buy that car back in the early 80's .... was told its not for sale. Obviously that's the way its been since then. Sad 🙁

Good name David W, the bidders were tire kickers at this auction though it helps all parties if the vehicles for sale have clean titles instead of might have titles lol

Hello David W! Yes a missing title is even a problem for the scrapman in some states as recyclers require it in an effort to deter theft.

@WoodyFixit2 күн бұрын
It seems a bit ironic that back in the 1980s that absolutely used to be the case! At least here in Ohio it was. It didn't matter the condition, from parts car to really nice vehicle. If there was no title it was $200-500 period. Then Broadway Title became widely known in the car world and was the 'go to' loophole so to speak. Then slowly became a sort of a non issue with 'classic, collector, or special interest' cars. The prices still crept up. I've seen no title rusted hulks being thousands at auction in the last few years.

This place is about 15 miles west of me. Owner of the body shop I worked at back in the early to mid 90's would get parts from here occasionally. The fit and finish of these Taiwan parts were terrible. I remember spending a lot of time trying to get a decent fit on Tempos, Escorts, Berettas, Cavaliers, etc., especially at the A pillars. The scrap guys made out on this auction. As for the cars, anyone from northwest Ohio that's ever restored a vintage car, knows the hardest thing on them is to be left outside, in the elements, year-round, especially under trees. Some of those wouldn't even make decent parts cars. Even the GTO'S (most desirable of what I seen, besides the '65 Impala), looked to have been sitting there 30+ years. Under those conditions, for that many years, floor and trunk pans are nothing but a memory. If the frames were any good, it would be a miracle. I wonder how many broke in half when moved? I had heard about this auction, decided against going. I'm glad I did.
@AlAllertonАй бұрын
I did a few Chevy square bodies with those imported parts and remember all of them needing to be sliced, and heated and beated to fit. I mean they worked, but you had to make them work. Floors, rockers, cab corners, fenders, all of it took a lot of patience.

@AlAllerton That's what I heard from several people. I used some back in the 90s on a '62 Galaxie and found them and thing
