Pantera is the only reason why this dude is still relevant today so don't tell me about not living in the past cause the past is what got your ass here in the first place.....Vinnie!!! And if you don't live in the past then why don't you make up with Phil and forgive and forget and get on with it and make a few Pantera fans happy!!!

While all these groups may or may not choose to fly the flag of a sub genre, but there is a somewhat a general consensus amongst many of the artists themselves that no matter the style, behind the scenes, alot of the guys from these grunge and alternative bands as well as the other heavy groups of the time, that it's all just Rock 'n Roll, party on baby!

Honestly, I would have been so happy if Damageplan could've carried on even without Pantera coming back together. I really appreciate their music, they had a great thing going and rumor says that the second Damageplan record was very heavy and more focused. I wish we could have heard what the Abott brothers had in store for us, so sad. I think that Pantera are untouchable but as Vinnie said, it was what it was, and you can leave it at that. They gave us 5 masterpieces of albums and I don't think they would have been able to suppress that. With Anselmo's voice deteriorating, Damageplan would have been more than enough. Miss them both, everybody remembers Dime but Vinnie was a cool personality too, RIP.

The first time I saw Pantera Phil said "we dont care about mtv and they don't care about us,do you see the shit they play now? Do you see the shit they play now?!?!!?!!? Fuck Mtv!" Its hard to believe its gotten worse,as bad as it was then they at least played music... sometimes. That was 1997 in Philadelphia,I think the show is up on KZbin and Im happy to say it really was as great as I remember. I saw them 3 times after that and each show was superb but there was something special about that one. For years I thought maybe I remembered It better than it was which is often tbe case but when I saw it on here years later it confirmed how amazing it was. And this was in the period where the relations in the band were become tense around the time Vinnie referred to as when it "stopped being fun,the unity we once had was gone" so I can only imagine how great it must have been before. I really think Vinnie should at least consider making peace with Phil, maybe it could turn out good and maybe not but its garunteed nothing good will come of it if they dong attempt to reconcile. I dont believe Dime would believe continued resentment and bitterness would be the way to go

Because sadly, a lot of people put all of the people from their past "in" their past....throwing a lot of old friends and relatives away in the process. They cut ties, stab backs and literally forget reality. It sucks worse for people who remember when others choose not to...like being a living ghost....which is probably how Phil feels about it today, despite not being able to take back anything that was said. A little of it seems like ' karmic vendetta" as if wanting Phil to feel the pain of his own doing.

Despite what us fans want and reading more about what was said, it's still doubtful they'd ever join back up. Not so much after what happened to Dime, but because of the blatant disrespect and unreliability shown at the time. It's painful for " all ' of us, but if something doesn't work no matter how hard you try to fix it, then there's no point in forcing a bond. Damageplan did do one unique trick though, at some point they released versions of their music with exempted vocals, bass and drums. Most would think this caused problems, but it helped listeners zero in better on particular songs. All that's left now is a singer trying to find his lost band and a drummer trying to fit in. Still thankful for the 6 albums they did produce and the ability to take our pick from their best and worst tunes they keep making ( iTunes). Despite the other bandmates, they lost the most crucial aspect of the entire creation in 2004. Seeking another Axe Master will not be easy, nore convincing them to take anyone's place and not make side projects themselves. Zak Wylde opted for it, but he's still Zak, and has to run Black Label Society in spare time. If Phil, Zak, Rex ( or Bobzilla ) and Vinnie tried another Pantera, it would be an entirely new animal.

Reason Pantera broke up, and not many people want to believe this, is because Vinny and Dime were actually more motivated by money and using Pantera as their vehicle to do that. They were obsessed with titty bars (life aim was to open one) and Phil wanted to just create and create and do more musically than just 'heavy metal' over and over again. If Vinnie and Dime were that bothered they should have just got a new singer. I can already hear the legions of Pantera-heads running after me with pitchforks so I'll just leave this here.

It's low to speak ill of the deceased, so I'll preface my criticisms by stating first and foremost that Vinnie one of - if not my favorite drummer of all time, and he founded Pantera, my favorite band of all time. Much respect and admiration for that. However, I never related to Vince. He never seemed like he was really about that life. In terms of the spirit of Pantera and the types of people their music really spoke to, Vinnie was just along for the ride, and I always felt that way about him. That's why I wasn't even remotely surprised when he created "Hellyeah". That band was perfect for Vince because everything about that band screamed "inauthentic", just like his wardrobe in this video. Dude never lived on the underbelly of society. He never experienced the gutter, nor did he have any desire to. He wanted to be a rich and famous rock star. That always bothered me about Vince because he just didn't share the spirit of Pantera's music. I don't think it spoke to him like it did many of their fans. If it were up to him, Pantera would have sounded like Hellyeah from the start. Phil and Dime were the soul of Pantera, full stop.

Theres a another interview with him talking about a reunion and is talking about a reunion is all members back together not a fill in and 3 people. You gotta feel bad for vinnie too. He watched his brother get shot in the head 5 times. No one needs to see that. And if hes up there playing pantera songs and looks in that spot where he would normally see dime playing that pantera music would just upset him. Hes obviously, pissed at fans for asking for a reunion lol. He said if eddie van halen died would you go ask zakk wylde to do a reunion lmao he said no its not. Reunion

OK first of all dimebag was not shot in the head five times he was shot three times once two in the chest and one in the abdominal area responders said he died on stage that night so get your facts straight and secondly no body's option are matters if they have a reunion because if they do that's their business you have no control over that and I have been a die hard fan since I was 3 still a die hard fan thanks God bless and have a great dy.

I don't understand when Vinnie says you can't scream 24x7. Who is he talking about? Listen to Down, then listen to Damage Plan. Who does nothing but scream? Dow was much more diverse than Damage Plan.

Shut up. You know, the being full of hate and negativity and anti-social behavior really turns a lot of people off from metal, because the people in the culture are so bad. Metal kids are supposedly the kids who were bullied in high school, yet there’s an organized harassment compeign of hating Lars for no legitimate reason. Any musician knows he’s a good drummer but hipsters who can’t distinguish music from a toilet bowl jump on the Lars can’t drum bandwagon. Btw, how do you know Vennie is a better person than Lars? Do you personally know them? Went to school with them? What if I told you vennie was an abusive alcoholic while Lars got sober and is a generous kind man with integrity? You don’t even fucking know them yet you make these incredible judgements and idiots agree with you.

So I've been noticing this for some time now and it really doesn't matter but Vinny is wearing a wig correct? there's even a clip in either the Cowboys from Hell video or psycho holiday where it looks like he's wearing a wig it's only in one clip of the video the rest of the video it looks like his real hair. what I'd really like to know is I read a chapter in Rex's book where rex stated that dime and Vinnie we're not getting along and they were taking separate buses on the last pantera tour. have a hard time believing that I think Rex will still drinking at that time and was broke and desperate well it's all whiskey under the bridge now rip PanterA
