Damn those were the days! No Internet, no help from MTV and the Media! Buying real albums! Everything happened natural and organically! It's hard not to hold on to something from the past that means so much to you. Something that shaped you and molded you, the soundtrack to life's ups and downs! The sound of yesterday seems to mean the most at times, but I see his point as well. I just hope that one day I will see Vince, Philip and Rex stand together again. If even just as friends! Forgiveness would also be a part of moving forward and not living in the past...

Yeah, if they could do it for Dime's 10 year anniversary in December, that would make it mean that much more.

Miss you Vinnie and Dime...untouched and forever in our metal hearts. Absolutely the truth and what an amazing album start to finish. Still jamming 20 plus years later, thank you and God bless the Pantera family and fans. Stronger than All!

They did have MTV - Headbanger's Ball. I remember seeing Ricky Rockman interviewing them at a bar, then I'm Broken video played, or maybe it was 5 Minutes Alone. But definitely still an accomplishment!

Pantera should have come together as a band when Dime was murdered.

"It was the first REAL heavy metal record to ever hit number one." Subtle shot at Metallica?

Depends on what you consider heavy, I mean, Slaughtered is waaaay heavier than anything Metallica did

ScootenTheBooten Oh yeah, that track is borderline death metal, but just because it's especially brutal doesn't mean a softer band can't also be considered metal.

@@TheEliteStrudel I get that. Metallica is as metal as metal gets - but the black album isn't the first thing you think of when you say metal. RTL or MP? Sure man. AJFA even more so. But Far Beyond Driven is heavy as a tungsten brick and reached number one. It really speaks more of the quality of Vulgar if you ask me, but still - an achievement for metal such as it is

Obligatory "its been twenty years already? I'm old!" comment. That said, Pantera still rules!

Man I love Vinnie. But damn....I agree with Phil. The fans own the songs now. We're the reason there can be a "20th anniversary"....I was one of the people who bought the album that week. Just feels like Vinnies attempts to keep it current are hurting the Pantera legacy. I say this with all love and admiration for ALL members.

Cash train? I'm sure there is plenty of Pantera money floating around... plus Down and all the touring they do. I'm pretty sure money doesn't have a lot to do with it. Imo.
