@@thomasallen3818 I'd say the case and bracelet certainly is. The dial and indices however, at least in my opinion, work even better with the bold, heraldic stance of the case than what VC originally equipped the Royal Chronometer with.

Never having heard of it before until now, I checked out the reference to the Vacheron Constantin 2215. Now that is a gorgeous watch, and if VC had been a little braver, it could well have toppled the Nautilus to be the grail watch to have today. VC have never shied away from revisiting their back catalogue - if they reintroduced the 2215 alongside the 222, it could well be their Nautilus/Aquanaut moment.

@@GreenPizza577 the Overseas is a handsome watch, in my eyes at least, but it definitely lacks that aesthetic that the Nautilus and Royal Oak have - probably because they're clearly vintage designed watches wrought in modern materials and dimensions. The 222, also being that era, brings to VC what the Overseas lacks. That's why I'd also love to see them revitalise the 2215, which is equally gorgeous as the 222, but also distinctive enough to be its own watch.

I like it ... because of the tank style it also has a bit of a Cartier Santos feel to me (although the crown and hexagonal bezel are more in keeping with the Genta's Royal Oak and Nautilus). Blue is definitely the colorway to go for me (I looked up the salmon because it sounded interesting but nope - not for me).

I still wish I didn't pass on it when it was introduced. I got a nice discount on preorder too. But in my defense, I could not choose between salmon and blue, and hoped for a green like in Formex Essence 39. When they make that green, I will have no choice 😅

There is a reason why the PP stripes are horizontal. Vertical stripes mess up the look of the text. Especially since these are simply painted over.

I definitely think it’s a way nicer looking watch than the Tissot PRX Automatic. I have a PRX in quartz and really had the auto version on my radar, but this Maen just moved into first place. @@everythingautomotiveeta5839 The PRX is lovely, if not a little oversold. But one other important factor... I fell between sizes for the PRX. At 7.25, I tend to classic 36-38. PRX 41 is a little gawky for me... 35 too small/unisex-ish. I tried both sizes a couple of times and it didn't work. Manhattan 37 looks better size wise... with appealing retro sense about it.

The first luxury sports, casual watch in stainless steel with integrated bracelet (that's long to describe a category) wasn't the Royal Oak in 1972, it was Omega in 1967, with the Dynamic and the Constellation "Integrated Lines". Just saying... Omega made designs in the early 70's (that Tissot now retakes with the PRX) that strongly "inspired" Rolex for their Oysterquartz.

It's an interesting proposition due to the case shape and the possibility of having a no-date (wish more brands would offer this). Their Skymaster 38 MKII also seems great with a 2894-2, I wonder what the price will be but anything under 1500€ will compete with the likes of Tissot and Junghans.

Wears as it should on my 7 1/2" wrist. Very happy it is not larger. I'd post a pic if I could. Keep in mind, the integrated bracelet begins it's tapered path from the case at about 24mm across. I think you might rethink things if you had one in hand. To each his own though.

First time I saw these a few months ago, I bought one and it's due within a week. For a design that's so right, it's disappointing that the date window is at 3. Luckily, they offer this no date version and that's what is incoming. I suppose the 3 o'clock date serves to make it easier to see with sleeves but I'd rather have the symmetry.

I have the No Date Salmon dial version that is more like a Bronze Copper in most light. Swiss movement watch of a rendition homage of The Vacheron Constantin mid 1970s Royal 2215 . It comes in four dial color date and no date options. Fantastic integrated bracelet and resemble a Gerald Genta watch of that era. For $600 odd - what a bargain. The finish and attention to detail of the same standard of high end pieces including Cartier. I have an 8.25 inch wrist and no way does it look small on my wrist. Maen (Moon in Dutch) are producing more and they will be available by March. They did send prototypes to reviewers in the last three months. I have been a collector for over 45 years and have owned a 5711 as well as a bi-metal and gold versions of PP's Nautilus . Aesthetically. and stainless steel quality craftsmanship - not much in it and less rugged than an AP Royal Oak. I am thinking of getting No Dates in the three other colors as they are that good! One negative - the No Date seems to have a ghost date position that clicks around 4:00 O'Clock. A Swiss surprise lies underneath the case back in the shape of a Ronda R-150 self-winding movement. This is one of the reasons there is a slender 9.3mm case thickness, and why this is such an elegant piece of wristwear. Running at 28,800vph with a 40-hour power reserve, with 25 jewels and Incabloc shock protection.

Very nice... it's very close to my ideal "70's luxury steel sports watch homage". :-D If I ever got bitten by the bug seriously, I would consider this one. Until now, my preferences were something like the Nautilus case (not necessarily that thin, but small, like this Maen), without the ears, with horizontal lines on the dial, rounded hands (and only two of them) and rounded indeces, date window.

I bought a maen once. Once arrived it looked a lot different than on KZbin or Instagram. The level of plastic Chrome was utterly high as it looked cheap. Buy a Maen and let this watch make your Seiko look like a Rolex. When arrived I tried to convince myself. My girl looked at it and instantly said: it looks very cheap. But hey for 100€...I said it was much more. Wisely she didn't say anything. Maybe because her looked said what I thought. I sent it back. I send it back. I realised it must be true what they say. KZbinrs must be paid to be positieve.

One thing i dont understand is why we dont let integrated sports watches be there own thing. If you say you wanted a integrated sports watch most of the time people think of an alternative to the royal oak or nautilus or just an close copy of them. There are so many of them that have there own personality which someone can hardly tell that this is just an homage. For example the streamliner (H.Moser) or the rivera (Baume). I dont know anyone that says that the Submariner is just an copy of the blancpain fifthy fathoms.

Definitely looking to add an integrated bracelet watch to my collection. The Tissot PRX was a front runner...but I think I like the Manhattan 39 more. It seems more special. I was able to get a PRX on my wrist, and it was very comfortable. The Maen would have to be bought sight unseen though...so I suppose that is a bit of a risk.
