Audeze Maxwell Xbox Edition Review - This Is The Only Headset You Will Ever Need!

I researched for 2 months for my brother and I. I was looking for the best high end gaming for my PS5 and for my brother who games on a Xbox Series X. The easy winner was the Maxwell PS version for myself and the Maxwell Xbox version for my brother. The hard part is finding or waiting after you purchase. Audeze uses select dealers for their products. I noticed ONE of Each came in at a Microcenter and I got them when they hit the floor. WOW. These are truly incredible. The PS version really brings out Sony's 3D Tempest Audio and the Xbox version uses Dolby Atmos due to MS. I would've paid 500 each. Thats how impressive they are. It's not only the best for gaming but stands alone for audiophiles. They are worth it.

I thought same thing but why ps version? You cheated yourself knowing what you did. Anyways I was waiting for a new Astro a 50 and now the x came. I love audeze and I have mobius and penrose x. But I think for games I play that are fps and want to hear footsteps I’m happy I waited for the Astro 50 x.

@@Cyb3rRust only as a side note but not officially. Audeze themselves stated that they would not recommend it and various problems can arise. I can only guess why but I could think of the Xbox version not using native protocols and behaves like a PC headsets (which is the case as you need to set it to PC on the dongle. With the PS version you could also use the PC setting but you get a dedicated PS setting too. So various limitations in sound and features may arise up to incompatibility. Audeze will surely know why they do not recommend getting the Xbox version for the PS.

This is the most honest review of this headset on youtube do not believe those other reviewers who make it seem like its close to other gaming headsets its not the Maxwell is in a league of its own i tried them all

Great review!!! Such a pity in Spain the Xbox version costs 450€ (or 400€ the cheapest) and is very limited to purchase. I've been months researching this headsets vs the Stealth Pro and others similar and the Maxwell are the best for me

@@ArchadesGames literally the only stores that sell it are very local and niche that haven't heard in all my life (not supermarkets or famous online stores, even on Amazon the sellers are small audio stores, not Amazon shipment or selling at all). BTW the only store I found for 400€ just told me that was discontinued for a long time because they don't work with Audeze anymore. And the very very few stores that still sell it, it costs 460€. I don't understand. The headsets came to Spain latter in this year so it's not an old product. And, although on KZbin there are reviews since last december, the majority or reviews (even on websites) are pretty recent. I read than in France is the same, not stock at all in Europe. I wonder if it's because Sony acquisition or what.

@@ArchadesGames for what I could research from these stores that have this headset discontinued, the original price was the oficial: 350€. But then the price higher got higher. I wonder if that's because very less sales and stock or if it was Audeze decision (because the price is the same everywhere). Chat GPT told me that was in January when it came to Spain, but I don't understand then why everyone is talking about this headset now, in october, and not then. Also, taking that as true, not being available in less than a year SUCKS A LOT.

Anyone else's game volume low? I just purchased a set of these and the Bluetooth volume is great but, the Xbox game volume is medium at best. With all known volumes turned up. Audeze so far is telling me that their volume level should be in spec. Any help is appreciated...

Does using the Xbox version on the PS5 require the dongle being plugged in and the PS5 version not for Tempest? I’m planning to use the headset for PC gaming in a separate room than where my PS5 is located. I don’t want to switch dongles from PC to console all the time.

Just get the PS5 version if you're not using it on Xbox.

How many months you’ve been using the maxwell?They say you need to baby them because of its fragile driver…does yours have wrinkle on the drivers?still thinking if i should buy them…some used for two months have a crackle sound already

2 weeks on mine and my driver's got crinkle. It sounds terrible. Why buy a headset you have to baby? If so I suggest not turning them up any higher than 50. How ever I hear it sa compression issue in the ear cups. You might go to readjust yiur headset and it crinkle the diaphram.

@@ArchadesGames Bought these based on your review. Definitely not working with PS5. When set to PC, they do not connect. Change to Xbox, they connect and no audio. Can you please share your firmware versions for headset and dongle? If these are not going to work with PS5, going to send back and likely go with Astro A50 X instead.

@@spy99gsx 1. Toggle the dongle to usb switch 2. U need to connect the dongle to usb A port. Not usb C. Using the extension usb cable that includes with it. .

Can I use it wired and get xbox sound amd then get Bluetooth audio from my PC for music and PC audio? I have the steel series nova pro wireless but I just don't feel they are good. I'm on Xbox
