Why the trouble for not disassembling the U-Joint worth 30$ that you can reuse if you're careful? I worked at a shop repairing driveshafts, and no, the U-Joint always gotta come out, at least one side. It takes ten minutes without practice.

@@Veyron640 thx for your reply. The reason l am asking is that l replaced mine and am having vibration problems which never existed b4. I found in an Audi shop manual that special tool 3139/3 is required to align the shafts. A lot if people talk about using a straight edge to align them but l don't see how this is possible because the diameters on either side of the knuckle are different . Therefore if you use a straight edge they won't be congruent.

@yanispayet6138 Yes, l did. Drove the car from British Columbia to Az. The problem was the centre u-joint. It would only articulate soundly in one direction. I ended having to buy a refirbed OEM Audi original.

My issue is always splitting the thing, I just use any 17mm wrench and use the round end problem free up until it comes to splitting the two halves

No. The joint on the end i find one replaced but i still have same issue vibration under pressure 1.2.3gear

Hi, thanks for taking the time with this video. I've got my A4, B5 Q to replace the centre bearing on the shaft as the rubber has failed. Audi only sell the complete shaft for $$ but I found a replacement for £35 here www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-S4-RS4-B5-QUATTRO-94-02-PROPSHAFT-CENTRE-SUPPORT-BEARING-30mm-152mm-69MM-/141256158773 . I've not yet installed it but it looks right, so another Q saved from the crusher!
