Audi A4 B7 Get rid of that shifter slop

On this edition of odds and ends. We fix 1 part of the shifter play that this cars has. which is up and down. We also replace the rear seat backs on this vehicle. b6 b7

www.exoparts.com/ they are the people you got me the kit because the parts are discontinued or unavailable from audi/vw. Goodluck. I think I saw a similar kit online but it as well was a European site but you could order.

It came from Germany. I believe a Passat B5 shifter ball and socket kit is what I used

Any ideas why I can’t get into reverse but other gears are working fine. And I did check the reverse lock out tab is working right.

Since repairing it? Or in general it doesn't want to? I know there are adjustments you can make to shifter with the rods. Best thing is disconnect it all and do it by hand using the rods.if it goes in gear that way its a alignment issue. If it doesn't in side transmission

Process of elimination. Does it want to go over all the way to the left to go up when you press down or no.

I actually just opened mine up today and went to add a little grease and discovered how much play there actually was in that ball/cup.. i will be replacing mine soon but does this help with the play side to side while its in gear?

Yes. But I still have a small minuscule play but its nit picking and I haven't replaced the bushings transmission side but I have them.

Hell yea! I'm currently looking into stock replacements vs. jhm upgrades for the linkage.. Trying to have the car in fighting shape for the coming winter..

It's the shifter ball and socket. The ones off a b5/6 Passat should fit but thlae pt# are discontinued so they referenced . They are the ones who recommended the ball and socket kit came from.germany. I donno the pt# anymore.

No worries just putting in a lift kit in an old crv lol. And the wiper transmission went on the audi. Keeping me busy

There is none. They expect you to order the entire shifter box. . . Aftermarket company in Germany sold the set.
