Its was 3.30am and I was sat in a layby trying to figureout how to stop the bloody alarm going off, having left my driveway as to not piss my neighbours off to much! Its now 4.40 and im sat indoors with a cuppa having removed the bastard thing. Thankyou is an understatement 🙏

Removed my siren and ordered a new one so thanks so much for the excellent video however with the siren removed it still sets the hazard lights off. Would this be the case until the new siren is fitted? Thanks

Thats a good question and I am afraid I dont have an answer as I had the new siren ready to plug straight in. From what I know, the siren unit contains two small batteries that power the siren even if the battery is disconnected and when these leak they set off the alarm. I dont know what else is controlled by the siren box but it may be the alarm is thinking it is being tampered with and activating but cant make a noise without the siren.

@@AstonishingGlasgow thankyou so much, from the sounds of it I’m guessing it does set the alarm off so fingers crossed it resolves the issue when I fit the siren. At least the neighbors are happy as they were kept up all last night lol. Thanks again!!

mate i have a same problem with siren/ alarm on my audi. Are You checking your problem with computer whats code is problem posibble? Today my friend checking my car and show me failed witch three sensors inside- and we dont think about siren, but maybe water around a computer of comfort.

I didn't have the ability at that point to scan for fault codes so I dont know what code would relate to the alarm sounder. I do know that the sounder is a very common failure due to its internal batteries . I decided that a used alarm sounder was cheap enough to take the risk.

When I tried doing this on my Golf mk5 the new alarm went off as soon as I plugged it back in. Super loud when next to your head. No-one making videos seems to have this problem

My new alarm didnt sound until I armed the alarm and then triggered it through the window as seen in the video. I am unsure why yours would trigger unless the car was locked with the alarm set and plugging it in triggered it to sound.

Thanks... My 59 model (58 plate) audi is doing the same thing, is it definitely the alarm unit and not the sensors that are randomly setting off the alarm? its doing my head in, and need to fix i pronto, losing too much sleep. Thanks Again!!

I couldn't guarantee its the sounder but it is a very common fault and if there is nothing moving inside the car when the alarm goes off its unlikely to be the sensors. Check the condition of your main battery as well. If this is at the end of its life it may be fluctuating and setting off the alarm.

@@AstonishingGlasgow thanks man, i doubt it is the battery as i had it changed a year ago and the alarm never did that before, but i wont rule it out. i have a sounder ordered so when i replace it, ill let you know how i get on, i may be able to help you at some point if it continues. cheers

Hi, I have got the similar issue with my 2014 audi a4 recently alarm going off randomly and in couple of days if car not in use it drains the battery i have unplugged the alram and ordered the new one. Ones replaced will it resolve the issue

It resolved the issue in the case of my car. As long as your alarm is having the same issue it should fix the problem. The alarm unit has two small batteries inside it to power the alarm in the event that a thief unplugs the main car battery. These two batteries fail and cause the alarm to sound.

Alram keep going off and battery is still draining even though I've replaced the alarm any other recommendations

It may still be the alarm box as the batteries leak over time so even an NOS box may have leaking batteries. Other than that if there is nothing else showing up on a fault code stamp im not sure what could be at fault.

I can't be sure. If the car gets no communication from the alarm sounder it may disable the car. I didn't try to start the car without the alarm.

I had the same issue with the siren. I just removed. A siren is about £200.lol

Mine was £20 from ebay and has been fine ever since.

and how you test alarm

Open a window then lock the car. When the red LED on the drivers door top starts flashing the alarm has armed itself. All you need to do is reach in the open window and it triggers the motion sensor and sets off the alarm.

If your beeper is failing just hook the alarm up to the horn! What a crappy alarm. It literally sounds like a Toyota when you unlock a Toyota! Worst alarm ever WAY to quiet! There should be a lawsuit on Audi for their alarms!
