These vids are great the most comprehensive I have found. I have 2010 A4 with the mid level audio (not B&O but have the sub and center midrange) Since factory amp is 2ohm output and 2 ohm speakers are hard to find can I take the high level input into a new amp and replace speakers with 4ohm

I bought an aftermarket quadlockcable of 1 meter and i cut there so i can always restore it when i sell the car. My amp (Soundstream) gets its power from the battery and chasis.... better ;)

Sorry, but I'm not sure about this. And it's also different between the base audio system and the higher end ones. As far as I know, for base audio the tweeters are in paralel to the big speakers in the doors. For the higher end systems, the dash speakers have separate channels.

So... I can take high level subwoofer singal from there, disconnect OEM subwoofer, connect it to something like JBL BassPro Nano (via hogh level input) and control it from MMI?

Hello, Just wanted to say thank you for the informative videos, I been watching them.and so far I've done the dash speakers, was a great help :) Wanted to ask, so when I cut into the speaker wires, the wires closest to the quad lock will go into my aftermarket amplifier (signal in) and then aftermarket amplifier (signal out) will go back into the factory wires towards the speakers? Essentially putting my amplifier between the Audi original wires?

@@shibidi I actually had the amplifier installed but the installer made a harness with a parrot kit. It hooked onto the harness from the amp and I retain all the functions. I'm using a 6 channel amp but 2 channels are for subs and the 4 are for door speakers

I don't know the wiring for all of them. I always search it online to be sure. In theory it should be similar, but can't tell you for sure.

Hi, thank you for the videos on A4 B8 audio, they are excellent help. I would like to add a 4 channel amp, add aftermarket sub and front component speakers. I will disconnect OEM sub, rear door and dash centre and dash tweeter. Can you help me understand in this video the quadlock / adapter you show is the speaker output? Then I should cut and take feed from connector into new amp, then take line output from new amp and rejoin to same wire so I can reuse existing speaker wire? Also question, is this radio in boot already amplifying signal, so is it problem to just take line into another amplifier? I have seen people saying need expensive MOST adaptors to convert to line level and bypass factory radio/amp but this is step too far for me on budget,

Actually I see maybe I need LOC first, then into amplifier, then to sub and speakers - could you still please confirm this block is speaker out from radio? Thanks again, best videos about stock audi stereo that I can find. Also coincidence I had Skoda Octavia before this, which had stock stereo and it was really good sound quality compare to Audi. In my experience though, the Skoda was unusual to have good stereo because I have had Honda and BMW 3 and 5 series before this and they also had terrible stock stereo

Hi. Thank you for watching. Yes, the quadlock in the trunk provides amplified audio to the speakers. I would either buy an amplifier that has high level input or use high to low adapters in front of the amplifier. For the rest you are spot on and I would do the same.

You need to upgrade the radio unit in the trunk like I did and basically do about all I did in the video, but with a different speaker.

Error on vcds is 000384 Optical databus , 011 Open circuit intermittent. I checked the fiber is ok, it's working 10 minutes than stops and so on.Any ideea? Thank you!!!

Hello. Close to impossible to guess. But maibe you have a bad fiber optic connection. I know that internet fiber optic connectors can go bad because of heat sometimes. Maybe it's something similar.

Only if your radio unit supports it. If you did not upgrade the radio unit, then it will not support it.

Hi. Depends on what you want. If you want the subwoofer control in the MMI to work, then you take the signal from the subwoofer. For the remote, I don't know.
