+Ankit Maloney Luxury cars first?! Are you having a laugh?? These are Premium D-segment cars with a heritage of being sporty. A 7-series or a S-class, that would be luxury. A lot of car companies are today focusing on having a wide range of customers as possible. They want BOTH the premium customers and enthusiasts. They do that by using modular platforms and engine ranges that aims to simplify to lower cost of constructiont which could lead to lower base price. With that said, I'm pretty sure that the complex and expensive construction that is the electronic parking brake is something that would simplify or lower the cost when you consider replacing a simple mechanical wire by electric motors just to free up some space in the center stack console for some cup holders(!). Keep your café latte away from the center stack console.

Please remember to do a review of these same cars 5 years down the road.In terms of value,reliability,breakdown(gear box/wear and tear/driveability) and ownership. Now that's a real review and a clearer understanding how well the cars were built.

We already have the economy market for those who want a cheap to maintain car that isn’t particular fun to drive - Toyota has that category down pat.

@@User-cb4jm the chassis is carried over, everything else is new. But I have to agree, i didn't like this review. Mercedes c Class has a trend of creekings in the cabin. So how can it win? This is absolutely rubbish. It only looks the most luxurious, but it isn't. Not when you're driving along and the dash starts creeking at you. Where did they find this guy. What irritates me the most is that he's judging them as if they're the luxury models like the A6/A8, E class/S class, 5 and 7 series. They should be judged for what they are, compact midsized sedans. I'll just stick to other channels.

I guess the c class is the highest selling in this class in Australia but in the US the BMW 3 series is king. At the end of the day it depends on what you want, sportiness or luxury, he's just biased towards the Benz really. The fact that he said the IS loses points for attention to detail killed his argument completely. Everyone knows Lexus build quality is top notch in all its sedans. While i agree the c class has the best overall interior, i doubt it'll be quieter than the IS. In my opinion there's no outright winner here. it all depends on what the consumer wants, if you want a performance oriented vehicle the Jag and 3 series are top of the bunch. If a great interior is priority the class is the best, if comfort, reliability is your thing i doubt you can get any rival better than the Lexus. So at the end of the day it depends on the individual and their personal preferences.

Well the A4 is a sline model so that has sports suspension aswell and trust me from being in a Audi A6 black edition the ride is not comfortable whatsoever then again it is on 20 inch alloys

I rented a BMW 318i M Sport and Merc C180 for 2 weeks while in South Africa. The Merc is just horrid - the stalks are just confusing to use, I hated the huge expanse of black shiny plastic in the center console, it had lots of squeaks and rattles, uncomfortable hard seats and the worst was the alarmingly loud road noise that just annoys on long journeys. The BMW on the other hand, was just a sweet little thing to drive, had a gearbox and engine that were perfectly made for each other, had controls that were logically placed and easy to operate, more comfortable seats, but had lots of road noise too but at a frequency that doesn’t annoy as much as the C Class. I drive a Volvo S60 T6 R-Design, and I really cannot understand what the fuss is all about on the Mercedes C Class. I’ve driven the Lexus IS300H and Jaguar XE 2.0D before - no comments on the Lexus as it felt like it was meant to be an appliance, whereas the Jag is such a beauty to drive, a pity about the cramp interior.

owned 330 f30 and changed to a4 b9 quattro. i would say bmw wins for handeling especially steering but audi engine so much bigger potential for tuning, ea888 just a simple stage 1 then a beast.Both nice car, way better than merc who is just selling the badge and interior, not for car guys

If one was to guess who had the last word at each factory then, I say. Audi: Production engineers. Mercedes Benz: Admins. Lexus: Sales team. Jaguar: design department. BMW: Test Drivers. If I was to rank them from best to worst. BMW and Jag come first because, racers and designers are genuine enthusiasts and interesting characters. Audi comes second because, engineers can be a bit anal at times but, it comes from their attention to detail and they are generaly nice and decent. Lexus comes fourth because, sales only care about sales and in last place are the fake, lying, pretentious, obnoxious and greedy admins.

My new 2017 Jaguar XE R-Sport is only eight months old but in that time it has not worked properly for a single day. Not one. There have been numerous issues with the entertainment system centered around iPhone USB connectivity. Sometimes it will connect and sometimes not. Often the playlists get mixed up and the system repeats a song three or four times before moving on to the next track. It will do this for the first three or four songs, delete the remaining songs and then start again. Audio will mute for a second and then come back while playing a song. The cars computer system won't boot for up to twenty minutes after starting the car which is great because at least when the screen is black and turned off it’s not terribly frustrating and it’s the only time it’s predictable. Parking and traffic detection sensors go off-line, the backup camera won't work, and the audio will mute and not turn on again until the car has been stopped, left for several minutes and then restarted. The touch screen will become unresponsive or it will allow some touch screen buttons to work and not others. Nothing is consistent and it appears to work (or not…) entirely at random. I’ve learned not to trust the safety features of the car or expect anything to work properly. The list of problems with the system is unimaginably long with no solution from the Jaguar dealership or Jaguar corporate in sight. It's been at the Jaguar dealership (where it was purchased new) for over two months in total where they have replaced the computer, the communications module, the USB cables, the touchscreen, the DVD player and they have installed several versions of new software and software patches. Basically the system is junk which pretty much makes the car junk too. Then there are the finish issues with the car. Door rattles, plastic parts breaking off, and the trunk opening mechanism sticks. Well, at least the engine lights haven’t come on yet but it only has 15,000 km on it so that shouldn’t happen for another day or two. Maybe someday Jaguar will build a reliable car but I can't wait to dump this piece of garbage. I hope it bursts into flames while I'm sleeping.

The BMW looks the best here; damn that M Sport package and these wheels are really nice! Also the best from the driver's point of view, with excellent chassis balance and steering; even though I agree that it's kinda noisy. Merc looks old and boring already (the rear end looks bored..) but has the best interior in the class, as he said, with impressive attention to detail. It's a class above the plain Audi interior and cheap-feeling Lexus. Kudos to Audi for making the A4 nice to drive (remember how last generations were boring and understeery) The Jag just doesn't work to me, it doesn't bring anything new to the category, plain styling, terrible interior design, and doesn't even drive better than the Bimmer. To me : 3 Series >A4>C-Class>IS>XE

Being frank, I don't think that people give a toss about those reviews anymore. I mean, they are ok if you plan to keep a brand new vehicle for up to 2-4 years. Reality changes drastically once you decide to own it longer or buy a second-hand car. Start making something that describes general reliability and maintenance costs within a certain period of time.

Audi a4 -the most completed car from them, in the same time it is luxury and sporty, exterior and interior are very balanced, the legendary quattro is something else, u never care to drive it in snow or rainy day, or if u want u can cross a river without using the bridge.
