Audi A5 (8T3) 2.0 TFSI 2012 Low Oil Pressure Warning Message ⚠️ Comes On The Dashboard DTC P164D00

Car came to our garage with low oil pressure warning message on the dashboard, preliminary check was carried out with scanner and retrieved DTC P164D00 with random misfiring too.
We then checked the engine oil pressure with oil pressure tester and had 10 PSi oil pressure at idle, engine at operating temperature, compared with manufacturer specifications and it didn't much manufacturer specs : oil level at maximum , engine at its Operating temperature engine oil pressure 1.2 ..... 2.1 bar.
engine at 2000 RPM engine oil pressure 1.6 ... 2.1 bar.
engine at 3700 RPM engine oil pressure 3.0 ... 4.0 bar. we are going to continue our investigation until we find the fault causing this low oil pressure, so stay turned for the next coming episodes.

muchas gracias por tu aporte me sirvio de mucho ya habiamos reemplazado los 2 sensores de presion de aceite, pero no solucionabamos la luz seguia encendida , debido a que al dueño anterior se los habian colocado al reves =(arriba el azul y abajo el cafe) los invertimos y listo, mi auto es un jetta GLI 2013 mismo motor 2.0 tsi muchas gracias y saludos desde Mexico

I was one of them ppl who kept driving, because the error msg was a little different... shut off the engine and check OIL LEVEL.. and I was right after a damn service so I knew there was enough oil !!! Few weeks later 'the beeping' got worse.. I should prob sell it now?

I’m getting a p164d00 code and p0341 but have no idling issues the warning light that comes on says “switch off engine and check oil level” but the car has brand new oil and when I check mmi it’s completely wrong I have 5 quarts in it but it says I’m on like empty. So I think I have a sensor issue more than motor problem

@iNSTAGiB oh yea i fixed it!, basically needed an oil pump. i did a oil psi test and was sitting at like 3 psi at idle. which is not good at all. found out the oil “sump” was full of timing pieces so therefore no oil was getting into motor. but it’s fixed now i got lucky

@@coryjackson6034 not sure if you were meaning to tag him instead of me but yeah i sold it after i got it running good, but with the prev owner he jumped timing and all the components were sitting in the oil screen of the sump causing it to clog up so i’m sure there was a ton of pieces in the pump hence why i replaced it.

Don’t ignore the other faults, I can clearly see that the oil separator pressure breather valve is leaking and that will cause excessive vacuum in engine and literally suck your oil to the top of the engine. Your problem was the breather valve

It does apply in some occasions but not in this case the oil pressure muched the spec before replacing the brether valve after replacing the engine oil pump, sir.
