with the flakiness of this part, I’ll probably torque them to 5 each, the 8 each, then the final value. so that that chinchy plastic housing doesn’t warp even in the slightest as its tightening down like the oil cooler on the bottom of the engine block…. it has 4 horizontal bolts and one vertical bolt…. I tightened the vertical one first and I think that was a no-no cuz then there is this weird tension on the four-bolt interface where you’re tensioning them and they’re already arguing with the single vertical bolt anyway, like you, I find oil leaks annoying…. but love the engine a lot too so I’m not unwilling to preserve it, and I don’t mind the struggle to keep it running, but sometimes I’m late to the beer w my mates 😂

Hahaha! You are absolutely right with torquing in sequence. It is the best way 👍🏾

Given the labor for this job it's better to pay another $30 to get an aluminum oil filter housing instead.

An other great video,thanks. I know my oil filter housing is also leaking a little but I dont like this job, so much work... At the beginning of this video you said something I never heard you say before : "I am not in the mood ...." Does this have to do with the A7 wich I can imagine. Keep your head up, its gonna be fine cause you deserve it !! Have a great weekend and see you in the next video. Kind regards from a rain covered Netherlands. Martin

Yes, it is a lot of work indeed with the risk of breaking things here or there, especially on such an old car, but you're going to have to do it eventually. Oil leaks suck! 😅 And yes, I was not in the mood because the same weekend, I tried a few things on the A7, which did not work. My morale was low 😢 I was hoping to use the A7 while I fix a few things I've been postponing on the A6 but now I have no other choice than fix them now because instead of two, I have only one working vehicle, my good old Patrick. 😅

I was already thinking it had to do with your A7. I can feel what you feel. If this was my A7, I would feel the same. I wish you, and your cars, all the best.

Is the oil pressure switch at 1:33 and 3:39 the same thing as the pressure sensor? I've been getting red oil pressure light warning in my dash lately. When turning off engine to check oil level then turning engine back on to see if problem persists every time the problem is gone. Also no metal-on-metal noises or the warning light while driving. Strangely the light goes on after the car has been driven and then left for like an hour so the engine is stil a little warm when going back to it. So conditions that trigger the light I have noticed are lukewarm engine after having driven it some time ago, at idle almost immediately after engine startup, like after the put foot on brake message finishes. If that pressure switch or its wiring is the culprit then I'd rather replace it than hope based on looking for metal-on-metal noise and pure luck to decide that the engine isn't starving (a little) of oil. The weird aspect for me is that the problem goes away after restarting car and sometimes doesn't come, starting the car and driving A to B nothing on some days. And then on others it gives me the headache because it decides to act up when I need it the most. EDIT: I am sure there's oil circulation because when the lights wasn't on I have done some spirited driving. You could say stupid decision to drive it hard when it sometimes screams an issue but yeah, the engine is still purring along so oil pump itself is not the issue as I found out the risky way. So that would make me think the oil pressure sensor of some sort is intermittently broken.

I had to replace my oil filter housing. I wonder if the oil canister get warped and this causes the gasket to leak any thoughts?
@Kokouvia
@Kokouvia Жыл бұрын
Some people said that, which is the reason why I decided to replace the housing too this second time but it did not look warped to me. There has to be another reason why the gasket fails earlier than normal. Could be an improper job, could be the bolts, could be overheating, I am not sure...

*What's up Boss! What will happen when accidently reverse polarity of the battery when you trying to jump start the car????*
@Kokouvia
@Kokouvia Жыл бұрын
You don't want to do that. In the worst-case scenario, the battery could explode and seriously hurt you. I am sure there are systems in place to prevent this from happening. A fuse or relay may cut the circuit and you will need to replace it. If you are unlucky, more damage could occur and you may end up with a fried ECU or other knocked-out modules.

@@Kokouvia Thanks it accidentally happened !!! The car won't start. Fuses work. Maybe I need to replace the Power Management Battery Control Module Unit...

@NIK ARTIST 89 Sorry about that. Don't start replacing parts without being sure. I suggest you first have the car scanned for faults. This will point you to the right direction.

It's not that bad, not entirely sure, but i removed a few times mine, i think last time I was able to remove it without taking off the intake manifold or breather hose as well. But my Audi it's 2007 and the breather hose it's slightly different than Keli's. I did removed the connectors if I'm not wrong they are from the O2 sensors, one was gray, one was green. But only unplugged them to get them out of the way. If I'll do it again, won't take me more than 2hrs...
