Did you torque the bolt down or just hand tighten?
@cjscarcollection18Ай бұрын
I actually just hand tightened them. It's quite difficult to get a torque wrench back there.

Hello... looks like I have oil leaking problem with my 2017 Q5. The dealer is quoting me $1900 of which $1800 is for labor. Is this something I can get it done by an experienced mechanic ? Thoughts ? I see how you are doing this and I know its a pretty deep job. Thanks for your help in advance.

Did you see the oil leaking from the top oil filter housing or was it just from the bottom because I don’t see any oil from housing area?? Thank you so much great video!!
@cjscarcollection183 ай бұрын
@Mariozr3vd thanks, I'm glad my videos could be of help to others out there. There was visible oil leakage at the bottom of the oil filter housing seen with a small mirror and from under the car.
@Mariozr3vd3 ай бұрын
@ Thanks for the reply, I’m gonna go ahead and get this done hopefully that solves the leak issue.
@cjscarcollection183 ай бұрын
@Mariozr3vd another cause of leakage back there is the rear timing covers too so definitely get alook at those.

@ That sounds like a very expensive job I’ll start off with the housing and move on from there thank you so much for advice is greatly appreciated

Hey, I saw one of your videos on the extended slave cylinder. I got a new clutch, flywheel and ss clutch line installed by my mechanic on my 2013 Audi s5. And he hasn’t been able to start been almost a month. Just tried the extended slave cylinder and seems that didn’t work either. Read online something about a sensor on the master cylinder that can get dislodged and cause the problem. Do you know if the 3.0 s5 has a sensor on the master cylinder my mechanic said it doesn’t on that year. Don’t know what to do anymore. They also pressure bled everything when they did it to see if it was just air in the lines
@cjscarcollection1811 ай бұрын
Hi, that's unfortunate. What is the car doing? Does it turn on and not crank? Or it cranks but doesn't start? Do you have clutch pedal? Or is the pedal dropped to the floor? The clutch master cylinder actually do have a connector on it and I believe it's the clutch safety switch.

It aeems like all 3.2 audi wngines have the same issue, damn there hardly any room to work back there, my sausage fingers don't help! Did it fix the leak after all.
@cjscarcollection1822 күн бұрын
Yea, definitely tight back there. It did fix one of the leaks haha. I still had another leak at the rear timing covers.

Thanks for reply. I will check it again and if I think is too hard to change I will sell it. Too bad , car run good.@@cjscarcollection18

2009 A5 3.2. Just took on this job. Everything went as the video went EXCEPT when I went to removing the filter housing bolts…. Total fail. Basically just starting stripping. I couldn’t budge them then the torx driver was just spinning inside the bolt. I can’t even imagine what I can do now. It’s impossible to get much behind there to drill the bolts out. So frustrating to get this far then nothing. And when I reinstalled I forgot one sensor connector and started it. Ran terrible, discovered connector and reconnected. Cleared codes and Now I have a EPC and cylinder 5 misfire. Swapped plugs and cleaned them but still #5 misfire. Ugh I went from a $100 job to who knows what. 😭😭😭 Huge warning about trying this and having stripped bolts. They did not come out anything like your video. In fact I’d say I’m almost worse off now. Beware before attempting.

you just said you used torx, you should have used triple square, and it has to be 100% seated, that's why your bolts stripped. You used the wrong bit.
@joshhynes8518Ай бұрын
@@johnmac146I mis spoke. I used the required triple square socket. Under hand tension it was well seated. As soon as some force was applied it disintegrated.

Hello sorry to bother you. I see that you work on Audi’s. I just recently purchased a 2010 Audi Q5 3.2 Premium Plus at an auction but I’m having codes P219F , P219C , P21A0. A EPC light also comes on when I press on the pedal hard. I’m doing research but can’t seem to know exactly what those codes are. If you do know what those codes are what would you recommend doing ?
@cjscarcollection1810 ай бұрын
Looks like you have an air/fuel mixture ratio issue. It could be a few things like a vacuum leak, coils & spark plugs, or leaky injectors, would be my guess. I haven't come across that issue yet

@hynes0621 that's unfortunate. I hope you get it all figured out. Yes, this is definitely a tedious and on a more medium level job honestly.

@@cjscarcollection18I’m going to install new plugs and upper intake manifold gaskets - should have when I had it off. Pretty good at taking it apart now. Plug 5 is def fouled but it happened a few years ago and new plugs cleared it. I’ll live with slight oil leak I guess. 240,000 kms so if I can nurse it along a few more years I’d be happy.
