It's not the wastegate, it's the variable geometry for the turbo (VGT). The same issues apply to the 3,0 version. Hope doing this will help, thanks for the instructions from Latvia.

Can I add I have the same 2008 Audi A6 c6 2.7tdi I was getting the same codes intermittent and all I done was cleared the codes and filled up with shell V power and it has been fine since. V power is more expensive but has better chemical cleaning properties that normal Diesel. What i do now is every 5th time i need fuel i use V Power.

Anyone tried this method? Did it work permanently? Same problem here. Used a brake cleaner just on the arm and by spraying improved movement already now just squiknes inside to sort out.

Still working now, use this method to clean and a little copper slip grease to lubricant the wastegate arm Still running fine
