If you don’t have a retrofit Apple CarPlay and backup camera installation and want to install one this is how you do it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpi8l2d9bZlsgbM @UniqueAutoDevelopments Just search for “Apple Carplay Audi A6 c7” and make sure to choose one that suits your version of Audi MMI. The brand I installed is IDCORE.

I know :-). After unscrewing the 4 screws you have to use quite a lot of force to pull the cover loose. Those clips are sturdy :-)

Apparently it’s very common that retrofit backup cameras die in that manner. First random flickering then eventually a black screen.

Hi Abu, it’s kind of difficult but I would suggest you go to an Audi workshop and asked them how to remove the side panels below or above the doors. There are a few ways to do it either above or below the doors. The critical point is the passage through the “arm” of the trunk into the actual trunk. Since it’s a moving part you want to lead the cable through the rubber hose with the rest of the cables. I will try find a video that shows that otherwise you might convince one of the guys in the Audi garage to do it for some money “on the side”.

Hi again, I can see you have a matrix taillights as mine. Just asking what’s the color of the reverse light cable? And secondly did you have to wire the camera with a relay..I have 2017 A6 with RMC unit..do you live in Sweden ? Cause the environment looks as such..thanks

Is there a wider horizontal FOV version out there somewhere? In my Acura you can see the whole 180 degrees sideways, much wider than my Allroad

Hey, can you please send me the picture where it shows, how to do the power connection with the backwards driving lamps? That would be very much appreciated!! My aftermarket cam came with a filter, which I am supposed to connect into the powerline and then I need to connect the red cable to the original Audi-cable which activates the backward driving lamp. The black I hope I can simply connect to the metal of the trunk, since it´s supposed to be ground, right? Cheers for any help!!

Halo. How you wired cables from camera side. Just negative "-" to the body? From Carplay side positive " +" to the "REAR 12 V" ? I bought camera , and i have same car and Carplay, but camera doesn` t work. Can you help me?

I hope you received my email. The yellow cable connected to the CarPlay device should connect to the yellow connection for the backup camera (the other yellow one connected to the CarPlay device is for a front camera). if I remember correctly the short red cable connected to the yellow connection should be connected to something named camera/rear/reverse or something like that coming from the CarPlay device and will only give power when you put the car in reverse. On the camera side you connect yellow cable to yellow cable on the camera and the red tiny cable (connected to the yellow one) to the red wire coming from the black connection. The thin black cable coming from the black connection should be connected to ground like in the picture I sent you. Good luck!
