I just can’t understand why this channel hasn’t blown up already. You need one of the ‘big boys’ to give you a plug. Steve, give Mat Armstrong a bell.

Alistair McTwat! 😆😅😁 When I saw the running time of this video I thought I'd never be able to watch it all at once but it is so entertaining and comical that it just flew by! What fantastic effect the jump leads snapping Steve out from AI mode! The not enough fleeces but put me in mind of Reeves & Mortimer which is apt as they were also big in the 90s! The whole thing is so good that while the car is of course central its also almost irrelevant!

I saw the length of the film and watched the first couple of minutes and though this was going to be one for only the most dedicated 😂 But once Steve Berry from 90s Top Gear was rebooted by his wife we were all golden again.

By far my fave new channel of 2024, I’m going to be proud to say I was one of the first 200 subs in a years time when this channel is huge!!!!! ( Before anyone asks yes I don’t comment much on KZbin this is why I’m saying the next bit now even though been watching for ages) Great to see you back Steve, I wasn’t and never have been into bikes, but still your segment on 90s top gear was a highlight for me back then, keep up the great work 😊

Lovejoy originally drove a yellow Volvo 265 GLE estate in series 1. Talking of estate cars, in the Cornwall set police drama 'Wycliffe', the lead drove a 1996 Audi A6 Avant 2.4 C4 (4A).

My Dad had one brand new when I was born, his first Audi/ executive car. Some of my earliest memories, Mum also had a B5.5 Passat with the 1.9 TDI engine. Iconic VW group cars.

Same phone holder as me 😂😂. The audi c5 a6 always did sound great. 2.4 v6. I do like the sound of the 3.0 v6. The a6 is a well screwed together car I have found that with all the older audis. The A6 to me has always been just a little bit bigger than the Passat estate. For the man who wants to take his kids out on Camping trips and take the dog in the boot. 😂😂😂Fleece camera action 😂😂😂. My Audi a4 sport avant Tdi PD 1.9 wasn't looked after it was dogged everyday of its life until i bought it. Then I started to go through it and fix the bits that where broken. Now my freind continues to do the same. I ran it for 5 years people said that I would never sell it. I had the 530 E60 it was a good car but not a patch on the Audi it felt heavy. 😊😊

Vey true, Ali. I still love Audi's, but from this era they were different gravy. I had (amongst others) an A4 1.8T Sport Avant. That was a car.

Steve, I can't belive you mentioned watching Target as I only watched an episode the other night. Patrick Mower goes undercover as a lorry driver, great cast including Billy Murray aka Cooney in the Sweeney and Don Beach in the Bill. The cars were great, brand new beige mk4 Cortina and also a car I once owned, a very rare signal green mk4 Cortina 2.0S (I wish I still had it)

I could see Des Lynam driving one of these in slightly higher specifications, but he would be wearing a beige suit and a yellow tie.
@windymiller50582 ай бұрын
I think Des Lynam is the most Jag man that ever lived. Suave, debonair, raffish, enough of one of his feet on the ground to keep his Bentley for best. He’s a Jaguar XJ made human.
@paulie-Gualtieri.2 ай бұрын
@windymiller5058 The Audi would be his dog car. Yes, you are correct, I see him in a then new S-Type, colour Seafrost with a beige leather interior and the 3.0 V6 engine.
@windymiller50582 ай бұрын
@@paulie-Gualtieri.Oh yes, the S Type, I forgot about that. Great shout, that’s an extremely Des Lynam car, especially as you describe it. And I imagine Des to be the sort of guy who has kept his S Type all this time because he likes it and an XF isn’t Jag enough for him.

Has Steve Berry from 90’s Top Gear rebranded as Steve Berry from Bury? Have we taken a step sideways or backwards from the delectable Mercedes he bought for his wife last week? The Audi A6 is a respectable, expensive carriage of the middle classes just like that Mercedes, but does its practicality somehow diminish its perceived status? I guess the answer is yes, as Steve Berry seems to know a lot about living in the back of an Audi A6 Avant. I think the Audi A6 Avant is the sort of car a comedian like Jack Dee or Hugh Dennis would drive. It would look at home outside their delightful Hampstead home, you can get all the family and the dog in it, it’ll take you to your gig at Northampton Roadmenders and be invisible in the car park and I think that Mrs Dee or Mrs Dennis would be equally as happy to punt it around as it’s not a masculine car, it’s just a very nice car. I don’t think the Audi A6 Avant is the car for the owner of a light engineering company in the north of England, I reckon they would prefer an E Class. This would be the choice of a print works company boss or a draughtsman. My uncle would have had one of these, he was a structural engineer and loved an Audi but he didn’t live long enough to see the 100 become the A6. I like how Steve’s hair looks a bit like a cantilever roof over his head in the sunlight. His Geordie accent is less impressive, it sounds like he’s watched too much Hamish Macbeth and not enough Byker Grove. I did enjoy his drink driving tv authority figure walk though. My favourite A Team fact is that BA Baracus’ first name was Bad Attitude. Mr T’s real name is Laurence, but I pity the fool that calls him that to his face. Now stay in school and drink your milk. I ain’t going on no plane and get this crazy fool away from me.

Always makes me laugh when people talk about the Quattro as a 'legendary' rally car. It won one more WRC than the FIAT 131 Abarth (3), 2 less than the Delta Integrale (6) . Both of which were based on mundane family transport, then it got it arse smacked in 1983 by the TWO WHEEL DRIVE Lancia 037. Audi is just rebranded VW's and always have been😂

Great car. Had one of these but the 1.9tdi version. Not as good as the E39, which I also had, but a fine, economical car. Had to scrap it 205,000 miles after abs system went up the swanny and couldn't get replacement parts! Mustard, what's all the warning lights on the cluster that keep popping on and off? You brought that wig from home, didn't you? Its because the American shows were adverts for the cars and had deals with the suppliers and the British shows were entertainment.
