Thanks for documenting this. Used your video to repair the lock on my front passenger door. Once the lock mechanism is apart it is clear that the orange shaft was originally assembled in the white/gray portion of the lock and then the end of it snapped in to its corresponding pivot arm. That's how I got mine back together, so the blue and orange shafts were pressed into their pivot arms together. Great DIY that is worth it compared to the cost of a new lock mechanism.

Thanks for posting, is that lock module for a pre 2008 Audi, would you happen to know what the OEM part number is? I thought Audi locks had 2 motors but I'm not sure 🤷🏻♂️

Very helpful video - best one out there on this topic for sure. I was able to disassemble and clean the motor communtator and brushes. However, reassembly of the whole unit has proved impossible. Sooo, rolling the dice on a used one on ebay. see how long that lasts! German engineering!! Total Crap!

Yes, it was a bit tricky to reassemble 👊

How would you get the door open, if the inner latch wount work either?
@daveraymond226511 ай бұрын
The door should open mechanically with the inner latch

@daveraymond2265 and if it doesn't? I've managed to get the inner door card off and I'm pulling all the wire cables to the lock and nothing is opening the door. It's stuck shut.

Same problem with my Audi, only... The motors on my lock are manufactured with the Brushes at the Drive end of the Motor, and there's no way of getting the drive gear off the shaft to get to them. I can see the commutator is messed up but can't get to it to clean it all up. (A3 2013 8v)
