As always an enjoyable and well produced review Marek. Like you I like my knobs and physical buttons. I can't understand vehicle manufacturers obsession with screens. It is illegal in many places to use a hand held mobile phone while driving, yet governments allow manufacturers to replace physical buttons and knobs with touch screens. It defies logic. It is the reason I wouldn't consider buying many of the latest cars. Give me a big knob to handle and I am a happy chappy. Tongue firmly in cheek.

This car looks really good. To bad cool full electric cars are too expensive for the working class people

Nice feeling review, but I don't really get if you like it? I drove a regular one and it was nice and quick. Does i really have three motors?
@MarekDrives3 жыл бұрын
It's an appliance. If it fits your daily commute - you like it. If it doesn't - you don't buy it. I've spent 2 days with it, and was preoccupied with getting from A to B to C to film the bloody thing, so I didn't have time to like it. I much preferred the Skoda Superb Scout I drove back from Merano to Warsaw :) And I generally don't like Skodas. Yes, the e-tron has one motor in the front, and two in the back for torque vectoring. Again, I didn't have time to fully test it/film it, but in a small town I entered a roundabout like a dick in front of a scooter, so in order to get out of the scooter's way, I just floored the Audi, and I don't think the guy on the scooter even had to touch his brake.

150kW of max charging power might not be the best around, but it has such a flat charging curve that above 80%SOC it can still compete with both 800V and tesla. Indeed, it is still the fastest at charging to 100%. Too bad, they are not using this drivetrain in a more efficient vehicle, or the Q4.

SUVs as EVs are indeed a paradox. They are not aerodynamic and are heavy - a recipe for low EV range. What you said about preferring the Taycan when talking about driving experience is in my experience true in the ICE world as well.

I like the look of the e-tron S, but in all other daily situations the e-tron 55 will be the better choice in my opinion. But only…if you drive on wide roads :) this car is so big, you feel like a lorrydriver. For the city a Corsa-e, Fiat e500, Honda e will be much better and makes more fun and, especially the Fiat and Honda looks better :D
@MarekDrives3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. This media tour was divided into two groups. The first group a few days before as curbed the wheels on this e-tron.

Wouldn’t we all love to own a Porsche Taycan sport Tourismo? 130-140k bucks wakes you up to reality quickly though. If it says Turbo on the butt it’s over 200k. As for the E tron, it’s really a beautiful grand cruiser isn’t it? And the interior is beautifully detailed but it’s this is not a cheap vehicle at 100k bucks either. Re: the battery technology. It’s evolving quickly and this is being left in the dust by the Q4 55 AWD which is 35k less. I suppose if you are willing to buy a 2019 E tron, it has lost 35-40k in depreciation in 3 yrs. It might be a great used buy if I wanted a bigger vehicle than the Q4. But it reminds you quickly don’t buy an EV, lease it! Let somebody else get stuck with the depreciation and outdated technology. And Marek, stop playing with knobs on camera buddy!

Check out the iX3 if/when it comes to Canada. Could be the sweet spot. And it's got knobs :)
@kevinn11583 жыл бұрын
@@MarekDrives iX3 is not coming to Canada and I think it would cost more than an Audi Q4, doesn't it? BMW did just announce the price of the i4 40 RWD at 55k CAD which took me by surprise. It's quite competitive at 5k less than a base Q4. I'm sure it has knobs too. LOL

Too many reliability issues with VW group cars. Plus VW amongst other German cars still mixed up with diesel gate and adblue shenanigans.
