Does the 3.0tdi a4 2008 have a PCV valve as I'm getting lot of back pressure and leak from beside rocker cover bank 1

Turn down the music. Volume is way too loud. Recording volume typically is around 75dB

Today I changed the rotary slide valve. Why do the German engineers put such a smudge, from which the liquid flows between the cylinders, under the egr valve? You have to disassemble half the engine to get to it. I'm changing it on an audi A4 3.0tdi 200kw 2016 70tkm mileage.video good at least I found out where there could be a problem with the leak of coolant. I prefer to turn off the music next time.

Thinking of getting an Audi A8 3.0TDI for driving for lyft...anyone know how many miles I should be able to get out of that engine, if I keep up service?

Yes. I have deleted the DPF and EGR valve.

@@realistdebate1493 more oxygen instead of burned exhaust gasses should mean more power but in reality you don't notice difference. Pros and cons are clean intake no more carbon build up and but in cold outside temperatures it takes a little longer to engine warm up to operating temperature.

@@DuBstep115 I suppose if mine isn't operating correcting I might be more likely to notice the benefits, mine doesn't start as easily when it's cold, and it's a little boggy in the low rpm, guess I'll get it checked out and make a decision then, my main worry is that it'll be smokier, have you found this to be noticeably worse?

@@realistdebate1493 If you mean black smoke egr has no effect on that. Hell even dpf delete didn't increase smoke. Only smell, it smells like rotten eggs on idle if you stand next to the car because of the sulfur thats on diesel that dpf/cat its not there to filter it

Couple days ago I watched my 3.0 tdi burning down with the whole car after I drove max speed and dpf tries to clean up itself. Now I trying find out what was wrong but realize that - There is too many things working with the red hot parts next to each other which can get failure. A catalytic, dpf, egr, egr cooler, special valve in intake and a tons of electronic.... no more Vag car for me. Thank You

@@TVTika That one was Touareg 2009 with 140.000 km on it. Now there left no problems 2003 Passat and 2016 Multivan 160.000 km with engine head, small turbo, DCC, power doors motors, egr cooler changed. Now I have issue with liquid cooler disappearing.....

Having been a student of ICE designs, one thing I've observed is the ever increasing demand on emissions, NVH, and cost have pushed us to innovate. The innovation rarely ever comes in its most reliable iteration initially. There are so many bits here where perfect coolant, oil and carbon free operation are required for maintenance free reliability. And good luck convincing a leassee to change out the coolant before the end of their lease, or to get induction services on DI based vehicles. After cooked EGRs, with recirculated Crankcase emissions on a required looser ring setup all using German moving parts isn't a reliable setup. It's just not. This bottom end might last forever, but, chain guides, coolant flow valves and pintel solenoids will fail. Check engine lights galore... Like most who've learned their lesson... A vehicle with this engine is a lease option.

Tottaly agree with you, especialy when all moving parts of the intake and exhaust were mechanical, now they are electrical, like egr valve, throttle body and turbo actuator, also this kind of engine layout is not perfect for diesel reliability, V-shape engines have more chain problems, because they need it for more lenght and more moving parts, also more tentioners and chain guides. And best of all is exhaust cat next to turbo, two very hot parts, and one of them need to be cooled down, but its impossible when you have catalytic converter next to it. My favorites is M57 and OM613, best diesels of last 20 years

Emissions requirements for diesel engines is the early death of diesel engines. The whole point of a diesel was to operate more simply, longer, and produce greater grunt than a gas equivalent and the regulators of the world have made diesels far worse than gas engines. It stinks. I guess it keeps the aftermarket busy de-programming and de-complicating great diesel engines so they WILL last a very long time and WILL be reliable.
