The muted replacement of Daniel Ricciardo with Liam Lawson for the rest of the 2024 F1 season means that all but one seat for 2025 is confirmed. Sauber, who will be renamed Audi in 2026, are the only team with a seat still unfilled at the moment. With just six races left this season, there isn’t much time for the current drivers on the grid to prove they are worthy of the seat, and there is a lot of competition outside of F1 for the space as well. One driver who has been absolutely desperate for a return to Formula One is Mick Schumacher. As the son of legendary driver Michael, Mick came into the sport with a lot of hype but found adapting to F1 hard at the struggling Haas team. After being cut adrift, he found himself a place in the World Endurance Championship, but could he be on his way back to F1? Let’s check it out.

Colopinto already proved his talent than any existing "old" driver. As a Chinese idiom , the rear tide pushing the front tide. Any team attempt of hiring Mick must think of budget cap. F1 is not a place of kindness and mercy.

@@sirmely Well, there is Hadjar... and rumour has it, old Helmut has his eyes set on Pepsilitro... oh the temptations of big Argentine sponsor checks. ;) And speaking of money... Danny's management agency has brought Visa Cash App to the table as RB's name sponsor. Maybe it wasn't his last F1 race after all and Red Bull is just honouring some contractual obligation to Lawson (remember, he was "promised" a drive by Red Bull, no manager worth their salt would just take their word for it, surely there was something put in writing) and the Money Badger will be back in 2025. We shall see. ;)

@@aoife1122 I've heard RB wasn't impressed from Hadjar's FP1 but obviously still not off the table. I think he would be a great contestent for 2026 VCARB lineup. And If you mean Calapinto I think that would be an AMAZING signing for the 2025 season if RB could somehow get their hands on him. And the Money Badger is a good thought! But I don't think RB would offer him an Ambassador role if that was an option. I like the sound of DR3 in an Audi for 2026 though! Thoughts?

Why look at Mick and Bottas when you have Danny Ric on the sidelines who can bring CAA sponsorship and really drive the Audi program promotion. Also, Danny and Niko already have a strong rapport and could definitely drive points if Audi has a competitive car, which is likely.

I would give Mick a shot. Bottas is a great personality but let the young guns come up. If he can’t hang and learn from Hulk which I think would be great pairing then he has had his real shot. Give him that shot. Haas was a dumpster fire of a team when he was there. Let’s have another F2 champion on the grid.

Mick will just keep on crashing. His skills is the same as Mazepin. The other one keeps spinning and the other one keeps on crashing. It’s a waste of time and money if any F1 team will choose him. Even Toto doesn’t want him to drive for Mercedes. If he is really good Toto will be the first one to keep him. Got chosed Antonelli than Mick which cocnludes what Toto Wolf is saying about Mick is not true. It’s better if he change his career. He’s not for F1 unlike his Father Michael.

Mick is only a Schumacher in name, not talent. Hell, Verstappen is the only name I can think of that's outshone their previous family member in performance I can think of. The second time a family name comes into the paddock in a seat they're ALWAYS worse than their famous predecessor except for Max really. You don't see Bearman crashing by default even from the start of things. Mick had his chance and has no place in F1.

The second Bianchi had his life cut short, but was way ahead of his predecessor at his debut. Alberto Ascari surpassed Antonio by a mile and a half. There has been debate about Keke and Nico Rosberg (I prefer Keke anyway) And I am sure there are a couple more I am not remembering right now.
