Hi iv got an audi s4 2011 b8 s tronic .. I'm getting fault codes on display gearbox malfunction you can continue driving and the car still goes in all gears and drives fine .. iv scanned it and get fault codes P085100 park/ natural switch input circuit low P179E00 drive position sensor electrical error P179F00 drive position sensor malfunction I was thinking should I first do a gearbox service and go from there as I have no history for the car.. it does not always come up as I drove the car fine other day

@@andrewcardno7474 I had the same exact error 8053 - Selector Lever Sensor (P179E). Tried the mechatronic repair kit, and it didn't fix the problem. I had a feeling that I needed to change the g676 sensor, same as the video, but it's much easier to fix the mech unit compared to replacing this damn sensor.

Nice work. I like to know do the whole gearbox use one oil or gearbox is separated in to 2 meanig it use 2 different oil? Cause i see it can be 2 piece like we have the mechatronic side where we usually change transmission oil and inside and out oil filter and the other part where we don't normally open. If I'm not making any sense my question is do the whole gearbox use one type of oil and i only put it via mechatronic side and it fill the complete gearbox ?

Alright i just got the answer from the first video..... Yes we have 2 different oil in 1 gearbox 1 on the DSG side and other 1 on the Center differential side. Thank you

Hello, A6 3.0 tdi 0b5 s tronic, the car ran perfectly, in the morning I started the engine and the gear selector remained stuck in P, I turned off the engine and after it didn't start, I got a message on the dashboard "Engage N or P to start" and P R N D S did not appear, they were not illuminated. I put the tester in for service and it gave an electromagnetic sensor error after the PRNDS lights came on and the car started and I went to select. After I stopped the engine and the PRNDS lights did not come on and the tester said that the ECM PCM communication was lost. What can it be ?

first off did it throw any codes? second please make sure your battery is in good health a bad battery or unhealthy can make the car act funny like this, take the battery to autozone to check if its in optimal condition. even though the car might start doesnt mean the battery is good.

@@SorinNetflix okay check out your battery first if its good then you will need to check the plug that goes to your transmission sometimes it corodes and makes the ECM loose connection with the TCM make sure its clean and fully connected. to remove the connection turn it counterclockwise.

If you have the diesel 3.0 you probably have the ZF 8 speed transmission which is different. I wouldn’t know if it has the same sensors as 0b5 Tranmission but in you case I would just buy a used Tranmission and program it like I did eventually.

Hello nice video! I have a transmission that have some latency to shift from D to R and viceversa. in R the gearbox feels slipping and 1st gear engage very hard with the latency, I have already checked the clutch and it's fine, also I used VCDS for scanning and no codes were found for gearbox malfunction. Next step that I am think is replacing mechatronics but since there is no code being reported then I am not sure whether this can be caused by the selectors. Do you have any advice?

@@arkeyfix786 thanks a lot, I think I will proceed replacing the mechatronics kit. I already change the oil (motul) and both filters external and internal but the issue persist. I have seen a lot of people taking out the clutch with the burned friction pads but mine is not burned like this, still I am able to see the orange/yellow color on them.

Have you checked your electrical connector going to the transmission this codes seem common when there is a problem with the connection going to the transmission,check for corrosion.
