@elring can you speak on solenoid replacement on the mechatronic? Common issue here in North America causing a lot of owners to buy an expensive refurb mech unit instead of a very cheap and easy repair. Seems VAG wanted to keep that work to themselves, taking the customers core and selling them a unit for 4500usd when the repair is 300-1kusd. The issue has become a class action lawsuit in the USA but elsewhere Audi isn’t taking responsibility. Please as someone in the industry speak on this I would like your thoughts

In the process of getting my 7 speed dsg gearbox fixed. Having a loud whine when speeding up, very loud when at 70 mph. Suspected pinion head or bearing. Costing me £2000 for a rebuild.

Not sure what type it is. Not sure on the trouble free miles either as we bought it 2nd hand from a garage and believe that was the reason the previous owner traded it in. All fixed now and got my money back from the warranty company and garage, had to take the case to court were they accepted liability. All good now. Pinion bearing had pitted the ⚙️

It appears that the work was limited to changing oil seals and O rings. I would have expected that the clutch plates inside the dual clutch would have, at least, been inspected and probably replaced. All that work just for seals?

Sorry. Here's the question: "Hi, question please: As I see you're a specialist with these DSG s. On my Passat B8 Bitdi, at only 50000km the cars starts to shake on idle especially when in N. When it changes gears or take off it smudges, it changes with shocks. What would you say it's the porblem: flywheel? What is very interesting is that in D is shakes(judder) less but still noticeable but when it's doing its regeneration is much better but not so better when, still at 1000rpm , when cold but not regenerating. Direkt am Anfang erstmal die Schraube weiter angezogen 😄 Zudem frag ich mich, ob es nicht besser wäre die Schrauben diagonal wieder festzuziehen. Ansonsten sehr informativ, wenn es darum geht die Dichtungen zu wechseln, wobei ich mir bei 'Overhaul' gewünscht hätte, auch den Wechsel der Kupplung, Zahnräder etc. sehen zu können.
