Audi oil level not reading correctly!

Also all you got to do is to reset it. 1. turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. 2. open the hood and unplug the latch sensor . 3. go back inside the car and turn off the ignition 4. go back to hood and put back the latch sensor by plugging it back. 5. go back inside the car and start the car. Now it is a complete reset. If that doesn't work your sensor is damage and need to be replace.

Let say the oil level is fine but the sensor is damaged. Will it be safe to drive the car ?

@@jorhamkat9999 if your sensor is damaged replace it but do not drive if u think there no oil in your engine unless u think there is oil. In some case scenario if your oil sensor is damage make sure you have oil dip stick in the side because I think having an oil dipstick is a lot accurate than the oil sensor itself. You can get oil dipstick on ebay they are not expensive.

@@EuropeanAutoRepair HELLO again, i just found why my STEERING WHEEL it does not moves easy when my car it is stationary and ideling, it means NO SERVOTRONIC, the steering pump it's brand new... 9 weeks since i've change it my self [ not an easy job, a lot 2 dismantle ] , the crappy thing it is that the servotronic valve it is OK [ i've bought a new valve just in case ] ,the problem it's the wiring , 2 wires goes from the servotronic valve it travels under the dash board panel and enter in a comfort module under the glove box area... theoretically . FOR ME IT COULD BE AN AWESOME CONTENT if you find it interesting !?!!

This is worked on my 2018 Q7 by pushing both plunge on both side of the car then go back inside the car it start to read the oil level.

Easier fix. Buy a dipstick through Amazon. Problem solved. I got tired of waiting for the MMI to register on my 2012 A4.

The problem is the micro hood switch is stuck closed and it's tied into the oil level sensor. Try unplugging it and use a jumper wire to show the hood was opened. Problem solved. If that's your problem, replace the switch or jumper it every time you want to check the oil level. Horrible design.

What do I do if I can’t unplug the hood latch connector it’s too hard unplug it with my fingers any tools I can use to unplug it easier?

Sometimes using a small 90 degree pick and lifting the little latch that retains the connector is a good way to do it, next time you try doing it with your hands push the connector together before you pull back on the latch

You could probably use a paper clip or jumper wire, I use a noid light that you would use for testing a injector pulse at a old port injector

Mine is coming up ( drain oil off ) and no it not too much oil in it , I've tried reseting oil level plus checking the switch on the hood , take it this mean the oil level sensor is not working

I had the issue of a low oil level warning following an oil change at the dealership. There was no issue with engine temperature during vehicle operation, so I surmised that it wasn't legit. Found a reference online that it was associated with the hood latch sensor. I opened the hood for about a minute, closed it, and started the vehicle. Problem solved.

Okay, my situation is strange. Had oil. Oil level was maximum. In 2 days, it dropped by a quarter on the screen. After 5 days, it went to minimum. Do you think this is a separate issue or also hood latch sensor issue?

Then I added 1 quart of oil and then dip stick and screen showed maximum oil. That makes no sense. So after 300 miles, my oil went from max to min, then 1 quart made it max again. Strange. I dropped it off at mechanic. The car ride is smooth

It might be a defective level sensor. Just to be sure you might want to buy a dipstick off a 2012 vw gti and that will work on your car if it's a 2.0tfsi

You just need to use something to connect the 2 pins on the hood latch plug.

Hello, I have a red oil light ("Switch off engine and check oil level"), and the car model is Audi a6 c7 (2013 2.0tdi). I changed the oil sensor, oil pump, oil and oil filter, but the light still remains on. Also the light turns on when the temp is at 90°C and the car is moving slowly. On my wife’s 2016, took for oil change, did not drain properly, shop overfilled. After a couple of trips, Low oil warning. Purchased manual dip stick, checked and yes, shop had overfilled. So, a low oil warning is also triggered for overfill as there is no overfill screen. Stupid. Corrected level and no more warning.
