G’day Paul, could this blockage be caused by not using the correct low ash engine oil? It’s amazing to see those large flakey pieces in your video. I had a 2.0 TDI Golf with over 90K and always used the 507 low ash oil and no PDF problems. Oil & filter changed at 7500 Ks. Great little car. Your videos are the best mate.

Hi Graham, 100% If you always use the correct oil and change oil/filter every 6-7 months including Liqui moly Diesel intake manifold cleaner with a few highway drive. DPF filter will last a long time

Why did you have to replace the injectors and injector pump? Because dpf was blocked? Thanks

Pump high pressure reading was not the same as the Specified 100bar less. Injectors were leaking pretty bad DPF - blocked really bad

There's supposed to be a differential air pressure sensor over the dpf to detect blockage, and the ECM using that info to turn on your Regen required light way before you get to such blockage. So what happened here? Regen system not working?

Yes that's correct but if you don't drive your car on the freeway regeneration will not be activated by ecu - short trips will cause it to block over a period of time.

I am wondering if that year Audi with diesel had a cluster light warning the user to initiate a filter Regen, which forces the operator to idle for about an hour which allows the ECM to inject fuel during the exhaust stroke and raise the temperature in the doc and burn off. If they had this, the owner ignored the light. ECM have been measuring soot loads for years, I think they can notify a driver way before total clogging is reached.
