Do you have a video showing how should engine work when you get off the oil cap, if pcv is working good? I am have a problem with big negative suction in my 4.2 fsi Q7. I have replaced pcv valve, but its not oem and it can be also faulty. thanks!

Just had mine fixed (Audi 3.2) I went to main dealers first and they wanted me to buy the whole cover costing over £400, but I done some research and found a company in USA (RKXTECH) who specialise in selling the part u need separate. It cost £20, and then u got ur posts charges and custom charge which all in all came up to about £40. Cost me £150 to get it fixed.

I think I have the same issue regarding my pcv valve but when I tried taking the oil cap off with car running the vaccum suction is too strong the cap doesn’t come off, is it definitely the pcv valve

My TT has vibration so replaced pcv and vibration reduced to 90 % however there is a whistle noise from the engine now … car is still in garage. Any advise ?

Guys, you will know it when you hear it. It’s a high pitched squealed that sounds like an alarm going off. I have the problem now. If you take off the oil cap and noise stops it the PCV valve if the noise doesn’t stop them back to the drawing board

Hello From Brazil. We have a touareg 2008 4.2 v8 with the same engine as your video. I suspect that the diafragm (inside pcv valve) is perforated, because there is a lot of air suction on oil cap and when i acelerate a lot the EPC failure warms up in painel. My doubt is: Can I substitute only the diafragm (i found the diafragm on internet) but i didnt found all pcv valve to buy. Bests reguards. Rafael

It is normal to have suction air if you didn’t have air then something wrong with the vacuum leak system

Also, is it ok to drive the vehicle with this issue? It’s at the dealer and if I pick it up to drive it home to try to fix myself is that going to do engine to the vehicle?

Yes If you are OK with that noise, It's okay to drive short distance.

Exactly the same noise on a Q7 3,6L that does not appear to have this PCV valve. Any ideas on a fix for that?

Anybody have any luck? I’m having the same issue on my A7 2012, I saw this video An was like finally!!! An I tried exactly what he did in the video! So is it just the PVC? An where exactly is it located. Seems so hard to find it on the Tube.

The pcv valve is built into the valve cover on the 3.6 models.

Zuby Ikyas Buy a replacement membrane off eBay for $25. Separate the PCV and replace. The membranes developed holes/cracks which cause the Valve to malfunction rather than open and close from crankcase pressure. Best test is to try and remove the dipstick while the vehicle is running. If it's difficult to remove and has a lot of suction, it's likely your PCV has failed. Very easy fix.

I have the exact same problem with my 2015 Audi A8 and they’re telling me it’s a bad crankcase ventilation and want to charge me $2,000 to repair. This sounds like highway robbery but I’m uneducated. Thoughts?

I have a similar problrm and cant find the issue. for me this happens. when i step on gas and at idle. but sounds louder when i step on the gas. I tried checking the throttle body, but still cant find it.

PCV valve has crack and sucking air makes whistle noise. Just replace PCV valve! The parts cost is around $200 USD. Good luck
