Had the standard GT for a few weeks when my Etron was with Audi again, it's completely spoilt me as I want one desperately, not bothered about the range. Just love the way it drove, handled and how it looked. Made me smile.

I own a 2022 Audi GT etron Premium (it was and has been a love story to me). It has had to go in for quite a few recalls but all done without much hassle. I don't need the one presented here (no need for major speed). It looks better than the Taycan. It is comfortable, sexy and I usually bore of cars well before 3 years but this one not so. Worst thing about the car is the range and I live in Idaho where there just is not the prevalence of fast chargers. It wouldn't be an issue if this were in a more populated state (Cali, Tx, Florida, or NY). Great daily driver.

You knocked this out of the park. I’m looking at purchasing an Etron Gt for my next vehicle. I don’t need to race around the highway. I like the ability to have a nice comfortable vehicle with the option to have some accessible speed when needed. I’m in the same boat, debating on buying used or waiting till the refreshed model comes out later this year. Love your content!

Kris, Thanks for sharing. Tough decision, but I would go for a mildly used RS e-tron GT. Then in 8-16 months pick up a used 2nd gen Taycan. New car pricing on these vehicles are high, and will likely head into the ridiculous category once their new variants arrive. I’m currently driving a 2023 RS e-tron GT, and it’s great! For some reason, the Polestar 5 has my eye wondering though. 😀 Best of luck!

The Porsche you have on order does it have that special adjustable Hydraulic ride height and suspension control? I heard it is really excellent for people like me that are over 65 and welcome the car presenting it's entry height at 2" higher than when actually driving might do well for your post knee surgery as well.

I believe that hydraulic lift function only comes on the Taycan and Panamera models. But it's less relevant for the Macan, since it's an SUV, the ride height is high already.

its hard not to go with the taycan, especially if you're a porsche person. Porsche being the key word here as that's probably the only reason to get the taycan over this, the brand. This is far more rare and objectively, the better car.

Beautiful on the outside but dated on the inside. Also, the first gen models struggled with lower real world range compared to other competitors. That said, the newer models (from MY 2025 and above) should have better range and possibly a bit more refined cabin. For me, given a choice, I pick the 2025 Taycan 4S which has increased power and increased range in addition to its other strengths but regardless, it will have to be fairly certified used.

Outdated interior? Sorry, but taking away all the buttons and replacing them with screens isn't modern or stylish. The interior is crafted and designed, with beautiful materials and layers. It has better ergonomics than just about anything out there, even a Taycan. First gen? There has only been this generation, and it hasn't even been facelifted, so not sure what you are talking about. "Also, the first gen models struggled with lower real world range compared to other competitors" This is just factual wrong and goes against all of my tests and most content out there made on this car. This and Taycan are the single best EVs when it comes to getting the closest to their claimed ranges. My old E-Tron GT tested back in 2021 got 393km (80,45% of claimed WLTP) of real world range at 120kph, and almost three years later it is the 11th best out of almost 80 EVs tested. So after three years on the market, it is still one of the best EVs when it comes to range and long trip travels. Taycan 4S is going to basically identical to facelifted E-Tron GT, in the exact same way they where before.

So I am more aware, enlightened and knowledgeable than you about that car. It is not a new generation, you cannot call it that because you want to. A generation entails it being an all new car, and it merly a facelift with an updated battery and new electric motors. Yes, the range will be more. E-Tron GT gets more range real world range than most EVs on the market. That is just fact and what range tests have shown us since it was launched.

I drive the i4 M50 and it is more efficient than the E-Tron GT at similar speed & power - unless you enjoy driving like a turtle in order to stretch your range. I also think the Audi is way better looking than the Porsche. It’s just the Audi colours are so boring and the wheel choices are pants. I really want an RS and would also want an Exclusive Colour, therefore would have to be a new car but I agree with you that there is good value in a used Etron and that limits choice - dilemma!! Hope you choose the Audi at least you will get an extra view from me.

The whole EV/Thermal powered vehicle market is going to flip inverted in the next 12-24 months. I drive a 2006 A6 3.0Tdi. Best car I’ve ever owned and I’m keeping it because it is essentially worthless despite being a great vehicle. I’m not a huge EV fanboy, but the fact remains that I cannot and never will be able to buy a Thermal engine car like my A6 diesel ever again which I’ve owned from new. The future is electric, like it or not. I also believe that once EV’s get solid state batteries sometime between now and 2028, the battery no longer will be the weak link in EV’s. Battery prices I. China have also dropped some 50%. That alone will kill Thermal engines in car production because they won’t be competitive as EV’s prices drop. Early adopters of EV’s…..and I still think 2024 EV buyers are early adopters are going to lose their shirt buying an EV, but that won’t be the case in the next few years. It will flip, and it will be thermal engine cars which depreciate to nothing as the EV wagon gathers momentum in 2025 and beyond. By 2028, EV car sales will be cheaper and will be the norm. I don’t like, but I have to accept it.
