Liquid moly oil containers do have built in oil spouts. You just pull them out and it extends.

a plug+tube kit is available to drain oil from oil filter, avoiding to spread oil around (VAG part T40057)

That would certainly come in handy! I don't mind the poke and spray method myself though

Nice tutorial video! May I ask where you get those jack stands with the rubber mounts? They look different from the links you posted in your description

7.5qts? thought it was 7.1qts? Or do built motors require a hair more? thanks!
@HardwayLearning3 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, I've always found 7.5qts when I Google it. Perhaps it's 7.1qts without filter? We do fill it past full with the built motor because it has a tendency to consume a little oil. Thanks for watching!

What is the life expectancy on that built RS3 ? I have heard not many of them make it to Social Security.

Our first build made it about 5000 miles, but I think it was bad sleeves and bad initial tuning

They are Neuspeed RSE10's in 18x9 +45, wrapped in 245/40r18 RE-71R tires 👍. They have held up well too a lot of abuse and are fairly light for the price

I just did an oil change on my 8Y and it’s showing right below the M in the Max when I check it 5 mins after full op temp (200-205 degrees) is this ok!???
@HardwayLearning Жыл бұрын
People often overfill the DAZA/DNWA engines used in the 8V and 8Y engines (intentionally). You can technically overfill your oil capacity which can cause the oil to foam/cavitate/introduce air into your oil. I don't recall how high on the dipstick that reading is supposed to be (If I recall correctly people try to fill it +1 additional quart). If you are concerned and the 8Y has the same filter housing, you could bleed some oil out of the filter housing as shown in the draining procedure of this video.

@@HardwayLearninghey, I just had an oil change on my DAZA Rs3 and the mechanic went over about half quart. Should I be worried? On the dipstick its over the MAX letters, just over it, I think its about half quart over
