This is our first video of the RS5. It’s the install for aftermarket downpipes. We went with RedStar Exhaust catless with their awesome heat shield and the quality and fitment are great.

Hey guys, nice install video, did you have to custom tune to clear a CEL?

@@odiespankers07 yeah she had a CEL until she sold it. Some companies offer stage 2 tunes that still register the error but turn the cel on the dash off.

how is your clearance to the firewall on the driver’s side? Installed these on my friend’s rs5 and it’s touching and everything seems to be tightened like it’s supposed to be

That is definitely something we considered, but then you'd have to hold both sides with tools and that just seemed a bit more challenging to us.

@@cornedenecker1636 this car also had a Miltek exhaust on it when we did these mods. It was sold before we could do more. We have another video with a tuned RS5, and hopefully more to come.

@Vaguh thank you for letting me know. I just got a new RS5. Ordered and APR carbon intake, and got downpipes. You think that will make it sound much better or would you say do mid pipes to the boxes at the back and keep OEM valves? Thanks man

You’ll get a CEL until you get a stage 2 tune unless you specify, Gen 2 GESI cat option.

Best route would be the Gen 2 GESI cat, 5” for up to stage 2 and 6” if you ever intend to upgrade your turbo. Heat shielding is great, but not 100% necessary, although it does make a bit of a difference.

The RS5 currently has a DVX Performance tune on it, but it’s getting the 034 tune this weekend.

Hello I brought a b9 rs5 with aftermarket parts. The car currently has cel because there is a cat delete and the o2 is there Anaya to get rid of anyone them so I can pass emission

Well, the best way to pass emissions is to put the stock downpipe back on. If you get a stage 2 tune from 034 or IE, those will remove the cel. I’m not sure where your located or how emissions are tested there, but those are the things you can do.

@@haoli6403 again, I do t know your local laws. The stage 2 tunes are for aftermarket downpipes. As I said previously, you may need to put a stock downpipe back in place for emissions. That’s where the cats are located.

@@Vaguh for the rs5 isnt there another cat under the car because when I looked under there was two welding spots which showed they took something off and welded something.

@@haoli6403 those are resonators. It’s common to remove those from the midpipes for more sound. The cats are in the downpipes.

There is still a CEL, until stage 2 comes out. We just tuned it with 034 stage 1, vid on that coming soon.

Nope. You may end up with a check engine light if you go catless. If you get the Gen 2 GESI cats, you’ll not get a CEL.

I think she ended up getting some mufflers added, the downpipes themselves we’re responsible for the drone, tho. Mainly the resonator deletes and Miltek exhaust that she had.
