Thanks for the video, I managed to change the power steering lines on my TT as a result! One point, the banjo bolt (furthest from the pump) can be accessed from above! Besides the intake pipe. Much better access than reaching in next to the steering rack.

Yeah you can go in that way, i do it that way on the 3.2 when removing the box, while im up top anyway

I have an 04 with a cut in the outboard high pressure line that goes just above the one that you took out in this video on the rack. How did you remove this without taking the crossmember out

Very glad I came across your channel. I have to replace my damaged power steering pipe because it got a hole rubbed into it by one of the bolts on the CV joint during and after the driver side (USA) CV joint boot replacement. 121K miles. The key noise was a clicking ticking noise with every rotation of the wheels. My fearless mechanic said it would go away in time. Yup....it did . Question. Can I get by with just replacing the flex pipe end...about 18 inches it looks like? Tons cheaper and easier. what do you suggest? We haven't started yet and will review your videos on this subject.

Hi mate pump to rack hose just been to pirtek and had a full length high pressure hose made up with the banjos. Will this work on a 2001 tt 225 bam. Cheers mate.

Mine has 2 lines and where they go on on the rack they are right on top of each other so close I can't fit a socket on it

Could you answer a question? One of the pipes coming out of the steering pump - which does a right angle at the intercooler pipe has rubbed on the intercooler. Do you know if this small metal pipe can be connected with the old rubber lines? There seems to be a connection but not sure if its one time use.

The low pressure line can be repaired this way yes, but not the high pressure one

@@BWSTT Thanks for the reply. Ive heard on forums people managed to save money by ordering lines which have the same connectors at the banjo bolts but dont use the same route as the original high pressure lines. Might have to have a look at them.

So this was the pressure line and cooler? But not the return line? Also my GFs 225 seems to have a larger manifold on top of the rack. Looks like cooler and return go on the top banjo and pressure line on the bottom banjo bolt.

The one from the power steering pump to the rack is the high pressure feed. The cooler is part of the return line, which attaches at the other end of the rack

How different is the 3.2 lines compared to the 1.8? I’ve noticed a few corroded pipes and will need to replace soon

3.2 go up and over the gearbox on the dsg for the high pressure line

where can u get the rest of the low pressure pipes besides the oil cooler pipe because dealer discontinued and all ebay has is the oil cooler pipe
