I really think that the iD14 MKII Audio Interface sounds great 🤩😍 I use Focusrite myself, but have looked at Audient several times. but after this presentation, I must admit that I will probably consider buying this audio interface when at some point I need to expand my studio. We see the video and feel bias, because we know what it is and are seeing the gear, but if we heard this song in a Hollywood movie or a TV commercial, we would think it was recorded in an expensive studio. It's why I like listening to equipment demos with my eyes closed or with the screen minimized, so my potential bias doesn't color what I'm hearing, ha-ha!

I've been using Focusrite lately, I started with M-Audio stuff, both have really nice preamps, but Audient is so great in this price range. Really solid preamps.

Actually bought this one before this review and I can DEFINATELY hear the difference in preamps between this unit and my last m-audio mobile pre that is 11 years old now. Was bery pleased with its loopback feature and extremely low noise. Have some difficulties with Guitar input, because it clips while I hit hard on strings with passive pickups, Even when the gain is at lowest possible setting. Besides of that it is Very good Unit, and considering the features it brings and possibility for future upgrades via optical input it is to my consideration - Bank for the buck!

I have the Clarrett2pre. It's twice the price (or more here in Canada). I think it's good and it's got a function called "Air" that can be switched off, I usually record with it off but will try more tests leaving it on in the future. But for anyone in the market looking for 2 channels I would recommend the Audient over the Clarrett because it is less money. For most people who need something more than a cheap usb mixer the money one saves, I think, would be better spent on more channels to go with the 2 channel interface be that an Octapre or Behringer equivalent. Thats what I think. Great vid and song.

Great stuff Warren! Wow, I love the character in his voice. So under gear list it lists Apollo. But this is all recorded with Audient? From what I see on the net when researching the quality of these pre amps appear to be comparable to the apollo pres. I wanted apollo but their new gear only works with the version of OSX thats one generation ahead of what I have. Audient works well with what I have. So Warren or anyone out there, Is the Audient pre comparable? Sure sounds that way to me. All the examples Ive found sound amazing. :)

I personally prefer the sound of the Audient preamps and converters over the sound of the Apollo. In general, I feel that the Audient has a little more depth (especially up top), whereas the Apollo has a little more low-mids. Where the Apollo wins is the unison technology and plugins, but I have been able to track vocals and instruments through my chains of native plugins just fine through the Audient just fine while experiencing no latency that has been noticeable enough to throw me off track. I will say my id22 just died on me after about 5 years, which was a bummer. So my id14 mkii just came in the mail today and I am excited to work with it. I hope it lasts though 🤞🏼. The other options I was considering were the Apollo Twin and the RME babyface pro.

@@jimiboi87 Thanks for the response, I bought the ID 14 and love the sound of it. I just ordered a used Apollo Twin with the plug in bundle and will have it soon. Had the 18i22 Scarlett which worked great but I sure do hear a difference with the Audient pres and conversion. I recorded a couple acoustic demos then played those along with the Scarlett demos that were similar that I already had recorded. For sure better sounding. Excited to try the Apollo and its plug in capability.

I’ve recently ran into a huge problem with my id14. It’s been awhile since I’ve ran pro tools but that’s not the issue, the issue is that when I change the sample rate in pro tools to the same as my interface 1024 samples, my interface automatically set it to 32 samples, how can I get it to stay the same as in pro tools. If you have a valid email I can send you a video of how it changes on its own while running pro tools
