Great video! How does this interface compare to the Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen? Guitar wise I mean! Does it have 1.5 MOhm like the Scarlett or less?
@LonelyRocker Жыл бұрын
Thnx!! You'll have to check the specs on their website but this is a great little interface for guitar. You've got the JFET input on the front. But the Scarlett is great too for what it is. I have a higher end Focusrite and it's a great interface. So many good choices!!

When I plug my guitar into the DI on my ID 14 MKii, it clips with the gain at zero. I have passive pickups. What volume do you have your guitar on usually when recording? Is it maxed out, or rolled back a little bit? Do you have any other recommendations?
@LonelyRocker11 ай бұрын
Hmmm I didn't notice that. Have you tried using the Accompanying software to adjust the input gain? I have numerous guitars and interfaces and I never have that issue. The input gain on the interface is usually enough to set good levels...
@adityabali193911 ай бұрын
I have the same issue with my iD4 MKII. JFET instrument input is clipping at very low gain, but the sound is thin no matter what,l. I have passive Seymour Duncan JB on my Charvel with 500K pots. I don’t have this problem with other interfaces/modellers etc If you go deep into the internet you’ll see this is a common complaint from a lot of audient iD stores owners. Especially who are using passive pickups.

I have a recording out on my amp, is it better to connect it to the jfet socket on the id14 or to put it through a di box and then through the line in?
@LonelyRocker Жыл бұрын
To answer that question I need to know what the recording out on your amp is. What amp is it? Is it a DI/Load box built into the amp or just a recording compensated line out?
@stephenneuij5991 Жыл бұрын
@@LonelyRocker Thanks for the reply. It is a Koch Jupiter 45C amp, hybrid. [4] RECORDING OUTPUT JACK: This jack provides an unbalanced mono output suitable for recording or PA. Its signal is derived from the speaker output so the typical tube saturation of the power amp will be included; it also includes Reverb and External Effects signals. This signal is at line level (-10 to 0 dBV) and is shaped by a special filter that emulates the typical recording characteristic of a microphone placed in front of a guitar speaker.
@LonelyRocker Жыл бұрын
I don't know this amp but if the level coming out of the amp is line level and it has an internal load box then straight into the interface will do the trick. The key is the load box because the amp always has to be connected to a load. You are best to check your amp's documentation to know what you've got there...

Hey, I recently bought this audio interface, do you know if/how I could plug it to my Windows PC and have my headphones run through the PC and hear this through AmpliTube 5 but also hear KZbin/Spotify so I can play along with songs? I don't even want/need to record, just want to be able to play with through my PC while also being on Discord/talking to friends/listening to music. Cheers! :D
@LonelyRocker2 жыл бұрын
As long as the interface is set as your main output device you will hear everything coming out if you PC. It only has 2 inputs but that gives you a guitar and a mic so that should cover you.

I record in Cubase and trying to find out how to pan it to place it where I want it in the mix..an you hep?
@LonelyRocker2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a Cubase user so I can't really help you there. I also never record in stereo. I prefer multi-tracking by recording separate takes and then pan them in stereo in mix. You get far better results and have far more control that way.

@@LonelyRocker I’m having real problems getting an answer to this question, everytime I search for mono guitar recording it always starts after the recording of the guitar. What do you mean double tracking? Record the same thing again? I live in an older house (60+ years old), and I'm having problems eliminating Electromagnetic Interference, which is especially noticeable when I add distortion to my directly recorded guitar tracks. I've changed guitar cables, moved around in different positions and distances, and even plugged my interface into another circuit at the end of my recording room. Do you have any potential solutions that I might be overlooking. (I use method #1 for my electric guitar tracks.) Thanks in advance.
@LonelyRocker3 жыл бұрын
Have you considered a noise gate on your guitar? Funny enough I will be featuring one soon. Even rotating around can sometimes help you find a cleaner spot. On top of that you could try getting some power conditioners. And only plug you gear into those. Just some ideas.

I don’t really know this amp. When I record I want to hear it through the computer. I k ow this amp can connect to your computer via USB. Maybe that turns off the speaker because the amps software takes over allowing you to create your tone but that happens in the computer not on the amp. Best to call support for the amp if you need more info than I can provide.
