The key is to accept this audio hobby as a problem and enjoy anyway. Join us *steeples fingers* A key way to manage the madness - allow a space, corner or small room/closet dedicated to storage. If you have a room, set up all the crazy in it's dedicated spot THEN - only bring out/have one system running at a time in the main house/living room. Rotate every few months, and enjoy the variety instead of a pile all in the living room all at once 😊

🖤I think Geoff is just really passionate about his interest and maybe he has no one else to spend his money on.. and that's ok.. it's not a judgement issue. ♣The man is not being serious when he says 'sick' with a laugh.. he seems like a gentle soul.. one who doesn't like confrontation or upsetting others. ♠On the other hand for example.. when people are passionate about their depressant or stimulant use.. that's a recognised addiction.. but.. if someone were clinically diagnosed as having an addictive personality, then they can be uncontrollably urged to extremes or obsessions of all manner.. from bad behaviour to hoarding golf balls.. It's generally a conclusion based on long term study and diagnoses. 😊Happy to see Geoff's collection.. and respect for the KEF computer speakers!! TY Dave for the great tour!👍 🌏✌& ♥

@greatlookinglandscap if he just likes collecting speakers and doesn't care what they sound like that's fine, because I was including myself in my answer, I've got a pair of high-end speakers and I love having them , my room is also on the small size, but it does get me that people who have the same speakers as me are getting better performance, and I'm never going to hear what the speakers are really capable of, so like I said it wasn't a criticism

@greatlookinglandscap I'm sure it is. But like you said going down that road is an addiction granted we call it a hobby. Right now I have four receivers and I had to check myself two of them are going to be gone. That leaves me with one in the bedroom and one in the living room and that's enough for my house. I just happened to come across a Marantz 2270 for $20 and a Yamaha CR-1020 the next week. Otherwise if I buy a receiver one has to go or I keep the ones that I have in that one goes. Kind of like what you alluded to does the stuff own you or do you own it?

My first object addiction was guns. Was heavy into that for a few years but have fazed out of that as a purchaser as I have everything I need. But speakers lately have been my jam. I'm looking for some PSB stratus golds to finish off my all Canadian made PSB 7.2 surround sound setup. I saw some mint stratus silvers I'd pick up but dude wants $875cad and that's insane I'd never pay over $500. I'll be getting a new AVR soon, would love to retire the old Yamaha HTR-6240 to the computer room and start doing a 7.1 in there as well.

@@geoffb4334 I think the industry has known how to make speakers for a long time and there isn't much that can be done to improve them. I'd say the same for amplifiers. It seems an old brand gets discontinued for the latest version even though there's often no improvement. You don't see this so much with Uk speakers, except for the odd tweak here and there.
