Audio Note Oto Phono SE + Spendor S100 - Close your eyes

I have been running these speakers since 1996 and they still make me smile, 26 years on. I power mine with specially made 18 watts of class A tubes. Which are based on the Williamson's from 1947.

Just for a hobby, I was during 1997/8 main distributor mainland Europe, for Croft Audio. Glenn had just build the 2 mono blocs Mesmeris amps. based on the Williamson design. Which wasn't exactly cheap, I payed 20K. One of the best amps I ever had! But for some years I have the Audio Note OTO SE, and still pleased with the thing. Speakers I have, I have now for over 25 years, Keith Marshall TLS, 1 meter high, filled with Audio Note units. Over 95DB! Ps, I never judge a system on KZbin, as I am listening via my I Mac. An one who does....is hahahaha

Can't say much for the particular music selection but those Spendor's sound glorious with the OTO!

Fajne głośniki. Fajnie sobie radzą jak na skuteczność 89 db. zauważył pan jakieś niedomagania ,np. w basie ?

Wszystko jest kwestią systemu... Oto to niby tylko 10W, ale gra dziarsko i z fajnym dołem... do pewnego poziomu głosnosci - do tzw normalnego słuchania jest bardzo dobrze. Natomiast wiadomo - przy takiej niewielkiej mocy warto to dopełnić mocno dynamicznym, konturowym źródłem - na ten moment mam nieco przymulajacy transport do DAC, będę chciał to wkrótce poprawić, ale brakuje niestety czasu. Znajomy łaczył z powodzeniem te Spendor S100 z 2a3, czy 300b, ale to już trzeba bardzo mocno wypieścić. Spendory fajnie radzą sobie w tego typu repertuarze, a i taki repertuar nie jest specjalnei prądożerny. Gdyby puścic głośno elektronikę z ciężkim basem to tak kolorowo by nie było...

Ja też mam oto . Dla mnie najlepszym źródłem jest gramofon z wkładką Audio Note IQ 3 . Ma werwę słychać że tworzą komplet .

@@przemysawpeszko3791 Nie słuchałem nigdy IQ3, ale to ponoc dynamiczna wkladka... OTO mam zestrojone kondensatorami raczej na cieplejsze (AN Copper in foil) , natomaist na winylu jest oczywiscie dużo lepiej, ale ze względu na bąbelka na ten moment nie odważam się na odpalenie gramofonu bo szybko skonczyloby sie to polamana wkladka...albo i ramieniem ;-)

Hi, i wanted to ask your opinion about AN oto. Did you try the phono? How is it? My system consists of marten dukes 2 , 6 ohm 88 db and gm70 nat audio hps. The nat is sold , and the marten also going to be sold. I m highly contemplating the oto phono signature se + AN k speakers. Small room 3*3*2,75 m height. I have no doubt about mids and highs for this system, but the bass is my concern, do you think the oto have enough power slam dynamic with efficiemt speakers? Look at my channel for videos … currently with atc scm 11 v2 on loan…. Thks

@@musicvibesonly OTO plays with very good bass IMO. It's only 10W, but it's bass is rich and pretty good controled. My phono stage is upgraded with 4 Kaisei capacitors, 2 Audio Note Copper Foil , 2 Duelund Alexander. So I would say it's heavly upgraded. Oto Phono Signature probably has AN Copper Foil as a stanadrd. I use my phono stage with SUT and MC cartridges - with right SUT it sounds really good - better than Audio Research PH5 or Manley Chinook - thier MC sections and also MM with SUT. In AN offer OTO is dedicated for AN-J's but IMO it will mach K's pretty good too. A lot dopends on your expectations , and music you listen. Vocals, jazz sounds amazing even with pretty demending Spendors, KEF205, or Sonus Faber Cremona.
