Opus is pretty great. I still keep my music collection in FLAC as it's comparatively small enough I don't have to care, but with a Blu-Ray rip you can save about 4.5 GB.

You should do a video on LossLessCut. It's a great program for splicing your dvds/BRs that end up ripping as one giant video file with chapters, rather then individual episodes.
