The parallel between him being calmed with a breathing exercise and him helping calm the same way in the elevator when they first met? Beautiful. I don't like hearing anyone in distress or upset, but there's something especially upsetting when it's Asher. The way he copes and how hard he works at protecting even when he's in need of comfort is both sweet and sparks something that makes me want to comfort him all the more. I'm glad he's doing all he can to get help, to move forward, but it's all too realistic that even in that case, sometimes it just feels as though it's at a standstill. Seeing the aftermath of the Inversion is such well done storytelling. That sort of thing DOESN'T just go away.

This audio was stunning, truly! It approached so many aspects of recovery, after a traumatic event. And all of those aspects were treated with great thoughtfulness, and a caring gentleness, while still realistically capturing the difficulty that comes along with such an experience. When it comes to recovering from, and living with, trauma such as this, the road is often long and winding. With plenty of bumps along the way. So, I could absolutely relate to Asher, in his wanting to take comfort in familiar things. I could also relate to that pervading sense of desperation to see some improvement within himself. To be able to hold onto the idea that things WILL improve someday. Sometimes, the hope for brighter days ahead is the main thing that can help someone withstand the current storm. As always, this audio was absolutely fantastic. So well-written, and so well acted! 💖 It was heartbreaking, hopeful, and heartwarming, all at once! I definitely got teary-eyed at multiple points throughout. Of course, seeing Asher struggle and hurt like this is unspeakably tough. But it is also beautiful to see the mutually supportive/compassionate relationship that he and Baaabe share in the midst of that! ❤️❤️❤️ - "Usually, it's your head in my lap, ya' know?" 😭😭😭 Asher really is the sweetest! So I have a theory now Asher as well as David have a behavior of playing games that they have already played multiple times this sounds really similar to a behavior that is pretty common with people that have anxiety issues where they'll watch a TV show or movie multiple times because it's familiarity the whole knowing what's going to happen already is comforting this further validates my suspicion that David already had passed history of anxiety issues before the inversion incident which makes perfect sense because of obvious pre-existing trauma which I think is what his past tsundere behavior was mostly rooted in his anxiety and trauma I also can't help but wonder if Asher already had pre-existing anxiety issues the more and more I look at some of the Asher's behavior the more him already having prior anxiety issues to some extent makes more sense all that being said thank you Erik for putting so much work into people struggling with trauma that is reasonable realistic and respectful.
