Hello, I just bought these Amps (MC3500 MK2) paired with Focal Sopra 2/Cary Audio SLP05 preamp also ran the KEF LS 50 Meta with these amps...these really are another level!! Worth the money in my opinion...never heard any of these speakers sound this good!

your running $1500 speakers (ls50) on $30,000 amp? i have the ls50 meta which i run on a old yamaha mx-2 power amp.. sounds good to me.. i wonder how it would sound on the MC3500 MK2.. wow

I have focal dali b&w as well as multiple kef in same room and I swap sounds alot but the Kef lS50meta has got to be one of the best values around.

Whenever I see McIntosh blue VU meters I recall the Grateful Dead's "Wall of Sound". Saw the premiere at the Cow Palace way back when.

2301 is more tubey and warm. It's more organic and musical. 2301 is more along the lines of what people think a tube amp sounds like.

Pathetically, I attended the Woodstock music festival in the summer of 1969. So, the stones did not play there and it was Richie Havens, not Haven, but who cares? I don't know that much - I was high some of the time (no more). I have a system with ARC 250SE monoblocks and Wilson Sasha DAW speakers - I suggest that the McIntosh-Yvette combination might sound similar. The bass in this particular combination is incredible - no subwoofers necessary.

On my test/setup playlist I have David Roth’s recording of ‘Vincent’ which is just so well recorded and pure, plus I prefer his interpretation over Don McLean’s original. The next time I’m in Toronto I am going to have to listen to these (unobtanium for me!) amps. 😊

In Europe CRT tv's used PL509 tubes the EL version uses 6 volt heater version used here should be a lot cheaper to produce than other types

The best EAR Yoshino 509 Mark II was designed around the 509 tubes by Tim Pavaracini these British monoblocs are ine of the finest sounding Amplifiers you will listen to. So it's not new or exclusive to Macintosh
