Got this mic a few weeks ago and I'm using the Behringer U-Phoria AI. Took some doing, especially with the driver for the AI, but it sounds pretty damn good. For EVERYTHING, I paid right around $95 so, can't go wrong for a solid budget setup!

One thing you have to really watch out for with those kits is self noise level. In most cases it makes the mic unusable! (speaking from experience)
@AudioHotline3 жыл бұрын
Definitely very true. The self noise isn’t great here on the TC20. It is definitely not as quiet as I like my mics to be, but I have heard a lot worse from budget options.

I know that you only gave the Mike Kit a 'C', but for someone, like myself, who just wants clear audio in on-line work meetings, the setup is near perfect. Mine is used with a Behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD Audio Interface and that works just great and also drives my Sennheiser open backed headphones. Being on the boom arm, I can just swing the mike out of the way, when not needed and my colleagues can hear me loud and clear. The only negatives for someone like myself are the very large pop-filter and the isolation, bit I feel that the mike and stand are near perfect for me and the rising frequency response may even help in meetings and the like. In time I may get a better pop-filer, but so far I have not needed it, as I have found that just by keeping the mike a little further away and not directly in front of my mouth, my voice has come out very clear. That just leave the shock mount, but I feel that what was supplied was the correct quality to get started and I may replace that later. All in All I would give it an 'A' rating for use in meetings, as paying more for a better mike would just be a waste of money. If I were a musician, I would be looking at a much higher quality mike and a higher price, soit is not fair to judge this regards music and vocal recordings. That just leaves people who do occasional pod casts or voice overs, who again may need a higher quality product. Again, for them, this could be a good buy if one was not sure if it would get much use. For them I would give this a 'B'. It is a cheap way to start and find out what you really want from a setup and unless one is lucky enough to have access to good stuff to try at home. The long and the short of it is that I think that this setup should be judged according to the market it would be aimed at. I still enjoyed the review and felt that it gave a good overview of the mikes capabilities.
@AudioHotline3 жыл бұрын
A “C” means it is average for its price. Basically, the price you pay, you are getting equivalent quality. It doesn’t mean it is bad at all, it performs as it should.

You should review Neumann BCM 105
@jabnls Жыл бұрын
I know you're going to think I'm nuts. There's a Black Friday $20 microphone out there which people are comparing to Newman microphones. The fifine k670 put the company on the map about 6 years ago, directly competing with the yeti for half the price. Basically saying we don't need no stinking 4 polar patterns. Today on Amazon it's $28, slightly higher than Black Friday/ cyber monday. Retails for 40. Right off the bat, it's a 6-year microphone so of course it's 16 bit. The microphone Jack is a little noisy but the audio quality is stellar. I'll do my best to find a KZbin video where the guy compares it to an $1,800 Newman... he is a Studio Pro who can barely tell the difference. Maybe you can this video. I also saw it as a kit the other day with a decent looking shock mount and a crappy boom for 40 bucks.
@jabnls Жыл бұрын
One more thing. It's the only microphone on Amazon I've ever seen which has a category called "voice recognition." Rated at 4.8. I guess that's a really good thing? But yes, every frequency sounds crystal clear and there's no mud whatsoever. I love my at2035, but sometimes I find myself staring at that beautiful white box sitting in the corner collecting dust, thinking am I doing the right thing by not using it?

Try PD-70 from Presonus..Cost a little over $100. Needs a audio interface or mixer..
@Tarkov.3 жыл бұрын
I can definitely tell it's on the budget side, I would say it sounds a little...shrill? I think people who are getting into professional audio should invest more into things like mic arms from the start, instead of buying a kit form china. My first XLR mic was just a used Focusrite branded mic off of ebay, and I've bounced around a lot of different used mics, because you can get them for sooooo cheap. I think I paid $18 for mine. I'm kind of ranting here, but if you look at the "value" of all the items in the kit, you're really buying the mic for like $45. I think you could do a lot better for that much.

Just bought this mic set, my voice seems to have some reverb while recording (then again i'm in an open room lol) and it sounds ok, definetly better than a blue snowball or maybe the blue yeti if you buy this kit, you buy it for the boom arm, simple as that.
