Thanks for the review I requested! Conclusion to my ears is that the NAD has a more U/V-shaped presentation. The Audiolab is more neutral. I like the bass of the NAD better, more full, but its treble could conceivably get to be fatiguing with the LS50 Metas. Good volume matching! Keep up with the comparisons! Invaluable.

It's very close. The Audiolab is a little warmer, but the NAD sounds faster, punchier, and a little more detailed

I like both amps, the sound of the Audiolab is a bit more balanced. On the other hand the NAD has more bass weight. A matter of taste ...

These new NAD's seem to get a little closer to the class A/B amp sound I'm most used to, particularly in bass texture. I think the Audiolab is a trace clearer throughout the range, and sounds a drop more forward and focused in the midband

I have this NAD, & had a late 80’s one - same high dynamic swings (like a Hegel) & open & airy mid up, but tighter & lower bass now. Love this sound. Go ahead & play your Klipsch or Cerwin Vega on the AudioLab, but you can get the best out of you superior speakers out of the NAD.

The audiolab 6000A is a great amplifier that beats anything under a grand, excellent build quality too

I can't make my decision between both brand because of the music style you did use. I prefer jazz and classical music because of richer details.

Does the NAS have more depth to the sound stage in real life? Here the NAD has a more beefy mid-bass and lower-midrange. I've owned the 6000a, good amp but a bit lacking in bass and an overall 2D sound. Hoping the NAD solves both of those issues.

Nads have more midcentric sound and will balance out some of that high frequencies of the kef. Audiolab will exaggerate the treble with more liveliness. Its up the listener's sonic taste and room placement/acoustics what he prefers

The best,Nad. For me.

Some of these comparisons are a bit misleading, don't get me wrong. But the nad pulls out 80 watts, the audiolab 50. The difference is pretty big, and the outcome is pretty different with according speakers to each amp.

NAD has a bit more bass, Audiolab a little more defined highs. The amp on my compact Denon m38 blew both amps out of the water, driving the Dynaudio Emit10s with grace and power. I must note the secret ingredient here : the NAD c568 CD player that adds an extra level of quality to the sound. I would skip the 500-1000$ range minimalist audiophile amps.

so all of this output is going through my PC to a denon amp and some cheap Mordaunt Short speakers and I'm supposed to be comparing a NAD amp and an Audiolab amp? LOL. I might as well be judging 8K video on my HD desktop too.

What do you make of this Amazon review? "The more I spend the more hogwash I discover. For the nth time I bought another equipment blindly based off of glowing online reviews (both written and video reviews) and am thoroughly disappointed and angered. This amplifier has rave reviews all over the internet starting from WhatHiFi to KZbin and 'professional audio equipment reviewers' and I can't believe how underwhelming and underpowered this amplifier is in reality. The rave reviews praise the high quality toroidal power transformer and the astonishing 60000 micro Farad of capacitance inside this unit and I was expecting these to translate to great sound. I am shocked and surprised that that is nowhere the case with the Audiolab 6000 A. The sound is thin, unengaging, lacking in texture, body and presence. The mids, lower mids and base are thin and the highs are not smooth or pleasing. The sound is just flat and unenjoyable and the amplifier sounds very underpowered."

NAD sounds more open, with a wider stereo perspective. Clarity of sound,... bass... is on, about same level. I'd choose NAD - sounds "wider".
