This is most certainly one of the biggest audiophiles in the world!
You can argue and debate that topic on a variety of metrics and never get a consensus, but it really doesn't matter. Without question, this is one of the most hardcore audiophiles I've ever met which includes thousands.
In this video, I feature just a few of his audiophile systems (of which there are more than 8). This video will be an overview highlighting systems that I spent the most time listening to over a full weekend visit.
It includes super rare esoteric audiophile gear that you never even see at audio shows. Plus, this gentleman has tested virtually every tweak in the hobby and even reverse engineered some to create his own.
While he doesn't currently sell his own creations, he is a reseller for the North American distributor for Aries Cerat and Inakustik cables. This isn't a sales video or even a formal review. This series of videos (of which I will have several dedicated to each system) is meant to just be an audiophile featuring another audiophile.
If you do have interest in Aries Cerat or Inakustik cables, send me an email and I can put you in touch with this gentleman. He offers home auditions for serious buyers and can provide more information as well as pricing. I stayed clear of most those things in this video, but I have no problems endorsing both of those brands based on my exposure to-date.

Hi Jason, Love your video’s thanks for all your great work! I’ve been an audiophile since 1975, when I went to my Ex brother-in-laws apartment in Beverly Hills, Ca. He had Quad ESL Loudspeakers with a Linn LP12 table, GAS (Great American sound) Thalia preamp designed by John Curl with Dynaco specially modded Amps that could drive the quad ESL speakers down to from 1Ohm - 16 Ohm’s! That was my first experience hearing a high-end audio system I was 20 years old! From that moment on I was hooked and I proceeded to buy a used pair of quad ESL loudspeakers, GAS Thalia preamp and a quad 404 amp to drive them I couldn’t afford a LINN LP 12 table, at that time I owned a Girard zero 100 Turntable! I’ve heard hundreds of systems since that time and a owned a Perreaux amps and preamp, a Linn amp and Preamp, Apogee Stage loudspeakers, Dunlavy SC-3 loudspeakers, Apogee Centaurs and much more! VAC Amps, VAC preamps, Proceed CD player and DAC. Linn Akito table. Well Tempered Table, ML preamps and ML 27 amp and much more!

That original system you heard would be killer to still have today. I can see why you got hooked and have had great stuff every since.

Similar path to me, I first heard a good system at a friend of friend's house, early 1980's, it was an Linn LP12 Ittock with not sure of cartridge only know it was a moving coil cartridge? and Linn Isobarik speakers which he said he'd had for a while longer than the rest of the system (which had been updated apparently you could do this with them), everything was on spiked stands and isolation stands (and he had a big pair of KEFs, not sure what they were but never got to hear those). Not sure what the amps were though, pre-amp and monoblocs? to drive the different drivers in the Isobariks (I'm sure they weren't naim amps, because that is what I went for when I bought my own system a while later and his didn't look at all like naim). It was the early 1980's. But yes, it blew me away, we played a lot of albums (we had a weekend of it at his house chillin' and listening music. A friend of his brought his Michell Gyrodec round and plugged it in, he brought it round to get him to set up the arm and new cartridge for him. And that sounded great. It was a cool chilled out weekend, nice ;-). Albums I remember us playing a side or two of, were: Todd - A Wizard A True Star & Something/Anything, Frank Zappa - Shiek Yerbouti, Hot Rats and Freak Out! Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Penguin Cafe Orchestra (hadn't heard them before that weekend, ended up buying a copy of the album!), The Who - Quadrophenia (the original album not the soundtrack album). Kraftwerk - TTE, Hawkwind - Space Ritual, Quark, Strangeness & Charm, Gong - Angel's Egg, Steve Hillage - Green, Motivation Radio, King Crimson - Discipline (It had just been released) & In The Court of The Crimson King. Genesis - Foxtrot and Selling England By The Pound. Bowie - Heroes, Kate Bush - Never Forever, YES - Fragile... Those are the ones I remember us playing a side or two of or dipping into listen certain tracks. He did play some classical works but sorry can't remember what they was, the only one I do remember (and it's because I was already a fan) was, Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto no.2 (if I remember rightly, but it is a while ago now!). It blew me away, I couldn't believe how different/better those albums sounded and the two turntables convinced me that was the way to go. Mind blowing! Gobsmacked! Having now got into this world and ending up with both the Linn and Michell decks, I'll still listen to music anywhere on anything, as music always comes first for me. (I was in a couple of bands, played keys & synths and toys and anything I could make sounds and textures with etc but we never made it big, we were more on the experimental side of things, so not much chance of commercial success! But it was fun to play at those kind of events etc). The main problem I have is storage for all the albums and cds! They've taken over my modest sized house. It's crazy! (but I love it ;-) "Music Is The Best" - Frank Zappa In fact I'm just about to play my latest box set that just arrived this week, Robert Fripp - Exposure Boxset (Exposure and other solo projects, live works etc it's a 32 disc boxset). I already have all the King Crimson box sets, which have been incredible and worth every penny. The last new vinyl I bought were by Tunng and the latest Liquid Tension Experiment (vinyl & cd box set). I'm waiting of iamthemorning's - 'Belighted' and 'The Bell' on vinyl to arrive, I have them on CD but wanted to hear/compare and contrast the cd & vinyl. “Without music, life would be a mistake.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

I went to one of their employees Apartmartment he had Linn Isobaric Loudspeakers, LP 12 Itok arm, cartridge was a ruby red over $1000. don’t remember the Electronics. He convinced me to move to Aries Cerat 'entry level' Incito S pre and Helene DAC. Absolutely the best 'value' in their line up. Completely blew away my Gryphon Diablo 300 integrated which is considered top 5 best in the world. If you live in the Portland Oregon area swing by for a listen!

Wow Thanks for sharing this is something very special. A ultra Crazy Rich Asian audiophile 😀. Normally hifi is annoyingly hidden away in a sterile room or a holiday home & rarely enjoyed, this is real life hifi! 👍! This is also such a nice change from the usually overly sterile mansion tours. At 18:05 I was amazed to see that he has a Nakamichi Soundspace system! I personally have this system & it's as hifi as I'll ever get, probably 😊. When you see him again, please tell him that he can upgrade the 4 mids in that Nakamichi to Neodymium drivers to really elevate the holographic quality for pennies. I have found a 1 to 1 drop in replacement Neodymium midrange. I'll send him the link to the stockist in China if he wants to get some. Thanks again, loved the video & can't wait to see more of this place in the future 👍

Great systems, some gear I've never seen on my side of the pond, over here in old blighty. Would love to have a good listen to his systems. His house looks more like a high-end audio dealership! What I wanted to ask was... Where is all the music? The Vinyl, DVD-A discs, CDs, Tapes? Or Music memorabilia? (Michael Fremer would be distraught at the lack of Turntables & Vinyl?). I'm now into the 1000s of LPs & CDs & DVD-A discs, Box Sets etc as well as some Hi-Res studio quality downloads. Though streaming is something I only use for background music and downloaded music files Mp3/Flac/Wave files are used more for on-the-move listening such as in car or portable Flac/Wav player w/headphones on. (When out walking the sighthounds (Greyhound, Greyhound/Lurcher). Must say albums do take up a lot of room and mine are taking over a bit, spilling over into other rooms. Along with other bits of memorabilia from over the years, which I have sold and swapped a lot of memorabilia recently. I will however keep my ticket stubs. I have glass coffee table tv stand with all the ticket stubs sandwiched between glass from gigs & festivals I've been to, dating back to the late 1970s, I only have stubs & programmes from gigs I've been to (I them as a kind of CV, if you will). Haven't got them all as I didn't consciously save them at first and some simply got lost or washed in a jeans pocket...Some ticket stubs are probably still lurking in LP covers (LPs or Cd's I've not played for a while). I had a habit of often putting a ticket stub into an album cover by the band I'd just seen whenever I got home from a gig.

Does the grounding box ultimately connect to a thick copper spike hammered down to 30'ft deep into the ground under or to the side of the house's foundation, partly silver plated at the connecting end?

Watch the video twice. This guy loves grounding boxes. Looking forward to more in-depth review of individual rooms what's your worthy of considerable attention. This guy is definitely a fascinating individual. What's his background and does he have degrees in electrical engineering etc.? Not sure whether he's just got lots of showrooms in a residential home that's a business or a home or more likely both, seems like pretty big blend between business and personal. Suddenly I have an interest in getting a fish aquarium. Were you checking your pulse every time you walked into a room?
@AudiophileJunkie
@AudiophileJunkie 2 жыл бұрын
His background is in real estate, but he's built buildings and complexes such that he has access to a lot of experts in engineering. When you combine that expertise with his resources, you often get products like his grounding boxes which are as insane as it gets when you learn what's inside. I can disclose the formula, but I saw an invoice for just one of six ingredients. It was a bulk purchase, but cost over $100k...and these are built just for his systems... Not for sale. That's the kind of thing that made me check my pulse as you alluded to. I've spent time with tons of mega dollar gear whether at shows, dealers or people's homes... It takes a lot to make me speachless, but this was a passion and dedication for the absolute best that I've rarely seen.

@@AudiophileJunkie my thinking on the ground box is that with all those audio systems all kinds of electrical noise is probably being created. If your house has a terrible grounding system then maybe one of these boxes makes sense. As to what's in the box my guess is it's a combination of special ceramic mixes, magnets, crystals, and very very exotic rare earth materials. Most people would be better spending all that money up the audio food chain but since he's already done that he's only left With dumping money in the ground box. It's terribly easy to spend all kinds of money on audio equipment if you have ample discretionary funds. If only his airies cerat preamplifiers could be turned on or off with a remote otherwise I'll be buying a Conrad Johnson gat.

Tweaks are very polarizing and bring out the drama, so I'm happy to share my thoughts and his experiences that he shared with me, but I usually do that for a limited audience that is truly interested in the feedback and not just there to troll and argue. Very nice. Considering the seemingly endless amount of funds he has, frankly I’m surprised by the “smallish” dedicated room.
@AudiophileJunkie
@AudiophileJunkie 2 жыл бұрын
You have to think of it from the perspective of signs. It's small to the eyes, but not sound waves with all those treatments. Just like my room, it behaves much different than a typical "small" room. Plus, he has large rooms for his other systems.

Unfortunately, the bocchino website is from the 1990s and doesn't have much info. It's kind of an industry secret and word of mouth product, but you'll find some cable companies that use them. The issue is needing high volume. Plus the mfg is in australia I think.

I had a customer for my IT company that was uber rich. Private jet and other planes. Mansion on Lake Michigan around Chicago that had a better IT network than many companies. His wife would redo rooms just to spend money. A house would fit in their kitchen area. The two boys had every remote airplane, car, paintball guns with cartons of paint balls in every corner. Massive PCs all over..... But now that I think about it, not a single HiFi system/ multi-media .... anywhere.
