O.K. in this song "Be Yourself" by Audioslave....Rocker Lady was telling me that we needed to react to them. So I just pulled up their name and downloaded 2 songs. When we went to listen to this one, I thought it had a billion views. But, I was confused as to which song had a billion views. It was actually a different song that we reacted to later called "Like a Stone."
Regardless of our ignorance, we thought it was awesome. Wait until you see our reaction to "Like a Stone", we loved that one as well.
It was super cool and I know why people like this band. We discuss the uniqueness of them in our reactions.

I don't know if ypu know this but sadly the singer Chros Cornell comitted suicide in May 18th 2017.. he suffered from depression for a long time, he was one of the greatest singer ever 😢 RIP

Both great takes, she's taking it like the song is trying to convey he learned how to be a better version of himself by being genuinely himself.

Black Hole Sun is Sound Garden song, although Sound Garden Chris first band.

I really liked your take on the song and learned to be a different/better person. Its a great way to look at life. This song always makes me cry a little. I have bipolard disorder, and go through boughts of depression. I know Chris Cornell suffered from depression. And when he sings "Be your self is all that you can do" it feels like hes saying "its ok. Don't be hard on yourself. You don't have to fake being happy. Don't hold it against yourself." They were a great band. Technically a super group, since all the memebers are from other bands that were big in the 90s. Chris Cornell the singer is form Soundgarden. And the rest of the band Tom Morello (lead guitar) Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilks (drums) are all from Rage Against the Machine.

I mostly agree. But there are two sides to it. You can hear the melancholy in Chris' voice perhaps because when you regret your actions, "Being yourself" feels pretty bad. So yeah, don't worry about it because for good or ill, you are who you are. A complex, constantly changing, and continuously connected part of the universe. I see it more as a statement of fact than something good or bad...hence why I think he does all the happy/sad juxtapositions during the verse...That it's more of a self-awareness thing, that you are an individual created from partial copies of every experience you've had (Memories) and pre-printed instructions (Genes)...kinda paradoxical...

A bit of facts. Black hole sun was made by soundgarden where Chris Cornell were in front. This band, audioslave, was a collaboration of Chris Cornell from soundgarden, guitarist Tom morello, Tim Comerford bass and Brad Wilk from rage against the machine.
