Agree with your comparison of Layne and Chris, but all the big “grunge” singers have that emotion in their voices. That’s why I love grunge. It is an emotion, not just a song. Great reaction! Day one.

As a kid in the 90s I always felt like Kurt/Layne/Chris/Scott/Eddie were all the complete antithesis of the "larger than life" style frontmen of prior eras. I like many eras of music but you're right, there's something just so *real* about grunge. Ordinary people writing extraordinary music.

You can have I scream and repeat my lyrics over and over and over again.. Kurt Kobain and Nirvana. The worst sounding “grunge band” to make the spotlight. Kurt’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard compared to Staley or Cornell. Not even in the same class. IMO

Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine are the same band only with different lead singers/rappers. They're both brilliant in different ways which is a tribute to the band and not the singers even though both front men are equally brilliant for what they bring to proceedings. Did that make any sense? I hope not. :)

But when he finds his power he’s saying to all the parasites, weather old flames or business fools, I am more then what you see. I’m a force of nature. All th while keeping his guard and ego up during the lyrics besides the bridge and hook. Saying two philosophies at once otherwise absurd
