Having the parking attendant report, them would curb blatant abuse of the system. Once she has reported the matter the council office can then check on the use and act accordingly. It's the parking office that should be acting not the attendant.

I wish people would stop with this stupid comment. Yes there is one rule for them and one for us. It’s written in the legislation as an exemption to allow them to do it. It’s voted on by our representatives that we elected democratically. It’s one rule for us and one for them, because that is what we collectively want not because they’re doing something inappropriate. Now you might not agree with it, but that doesn’t change the fact that what they’re doing is allowed. There are way more serious incidents of police, acting, outrageously and recklessly and actually illegally that warrant this energy, not things that they’re allowed to do.

@@finthegeek they are not totally exempt from parking restrictions, to "illegally park" they have to be on official police business that needed a quick response (eg an emergency) otherwise they should park properly like everyone else, policey man unforms etc does not give them carte blanche to flout laws without a valid reason, i would guess less than 1 of those cars were on emergency response.

The UK "police forces " ( or however you want to call that ) is rotting step by step on a daily basis. Like in the US were they have already transformed into a paramilitary mercenary organisation terrorising citizens but do nothing against real criminals. And unfortunately in a lot of cases even have become the criminals themselves by abusing their jurisdictional powers or simply don't care about law and human rights. This behaviour of a "police force" would not play out in a lot of European countries without consequences for them. Sad to see.
