1. Don’t make the audition a big deal. 2. When you go into the room, it’s never going to be exactly as you expect it to be. Be re 3. Be friendly from the start. Thank them for seeing you. 4. Research who you’re auditioning for and, if there’s a link, mention it with praise (i.e. I love that production/actor). 5. Don’t carry anything with you into the audition room except your script. 6. Keep the speech down to a minute. 7. Don’t direct your speech at the person you’re auditioning for. 8. When they ask you a question, don’t keep it short. Answer the question fully. 9. At the end of your audition, thank them, turn, walk to the door, look back and say “have a nice day”, then leave. 10. Act well. This comes with experience.

Thank you. I went to a University Theatre club audition today and I was the only one who showed up. I auditioned with some of the club executives. It was fun.

Thank you for these amazing videos! I'm trying to improve my comedy, so I'm watching a lot of videos about acting and trying to learn as much as I can.

indeed you are a royal cunning ham (ref, different video about memory). Thats great advice for auditions. After traveling all over the world I landed in Florida. Im a Brit acting in Florida. My American accent is terrible. I can do Forest Gump but thats it. Do you have any inside tips for the unknown limey plying his trade on this side of the pond? do you have any magic pill to help me speak general American?

Again, Thank you for providing these tips. I'm betting you know Sybil Lines?

A comment from me that this seems too basic now, and I can make easily a much better video about all this, so it's coming soon hopefully. (late 2023) ! John Windsor-Cunningham
