Like I commented on her interview video, she would never allow that excuse for anyone saying a bad day doesn't mean you get to ignore the law as the laws apply to everyone. She just handed everyone from this point forward a gift that is up for fleeing or speeding 20MPH over the speed limit. They can cite that she feels that not being prosecuted for both crimes shouldn't happen as she lead the example. Either she sentances herself accordingly, or it would be proof that she believes she is exempt or above the law. It may be a long shot, but it's worth it. She should have resigned immediately. She refuses because she honestly believes she's above the law. The punishment should be more severe as she even stated that she knows the law better than he did.

That would be the "good ending". Chances are, that the officer would have pulled a weapon, believing the driver to be "dangerous" because of evading the traffic stop and used force, probadly a takedown or a taser, when said driver didn't *immidietly* comply with orders. This would have gone very ugly for a "normal" citizen. Anyone but her would have needed medical attention and then gone to jail. She on the other hand, wasn't even cited for obstruction, let alone evading the police and everyone knows cops love to use "obstruction" as an additional charge 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was very disappointed by the actions of the supervisor who attended. He told the officer to “It’s your stop. I’m not going to interfere with that”. That’s horrendous. The supervisor was there, as a senior officer, to take charge. By refusing to step up and make the call, he is basically throwing his officer under the bus. What he is in effect doing is saying “I’m not putting my job on the line over this. You do what you think is right, and if it all goes belly-up, then it’s your job on the line, not mine, as I refuse to make a decision. I’m just going to pretend that I’m not here”. WTF? That’s why you were called to the scene in the first place. It’s the supervisor who should have demanded both the speeding ticket, and the failure to stop charge. You get paid the big bucks to make these big decisions. It’s completely unfair to blame the officer for not issuing the failure to stop notice. The officer knew damn well by that time that his supervisor did not have his back in any way, and had completely hung him out to dry.

A lot are commenting that the supervisor that said they aren't going to tell him what to do is not good leadership and I would argue otherwise. This would actually be a perfect test of leadership by empowering him to make his own decision on the stop. Once he does, instead of, in the future, doing the same thing (calling on for help because the person he is arresting has "more power") he will now feel empowered to handle the situation as is required of him as his job rather than looking at it from a "power" standpoint. If he makes the wrong choice, it likely goes around in circles and they eventually get an explanation of what to do in this circumstance. And this is actually the perfect situation for him to be empowered to handle it himself as it is non-urgent and non-violent.

A C is a harsh score for the police officer. I would give him a B. He did stand up to her rather than say "Oh your the DA, have a nice day I'll be on my way". Which I believe probably happens more often than not. Try putting yourself in the officers shoes. Arresting the DA would probably be a career limiting move , especially since his boss clearly didn't have his back. What should happen NOW is the police chief should arrest her for failing to stop and have her prosecuted. We all know that won't happen. Nor will she lose her job which she should. You should have graded the supervisor. The supervisor gets an F in my book for doing essentially nothing. You should also have graded some of the other police officers. They went away at the request of the DA to save her embarrassment. The first police officer needed support and witnesses for what could end up happening to the officers had he been prosecuted by the DA in a retaliatory move. The other officers get a D in my book.
