she is so consistently excellent it's scary, and if she played someone in their late twenties i wouldn't bat an eye. woman has meryl streep levels of acting talent, bernadette peters levels of access to the fount of youth and beauty, and could just casually go be an opera star if she felt like it. her performances are a streak of grace in this screwed up country that has screwed up the world. thanks audra for blessing us w your gifts

Amazing performance. Love the difference in her rendition compared to the 2016 broadway revival with Laura Benanti. Laura has a certain sadness, as if she has given up. Audra's rendition has a sort of anxiety and rush to it, as if she still doesn't want to let go of her hopes.
