They are icons of tuner and drift culture, built by legendary shops like Top Secret and Signal Auto, and driven by adrenaline junkies such as Smokey Nagata, whose name is synonymous with the aftermarket performance industry. They've accomplished great feats and continue to inspire generations of car enthusiasts. From Japan with love - this is how tuner culture and drifting made its way to America.

The summation of skill is a mix of drifting, rally racing, and tuning in Gymkhana. A prepared course, any conditions, smooth turns and 180s. It’s the parkour of driving. It’s not just about speed, but the rhythm of racing. It’s music. It fits right in with the summation of all other types of racing, like drag racing, GT racing, etc.

I recall in anothervideo that some of these racing cars weren't allowed stateside untill recent years yet i remember seeing drift races along the cart circuit in san jose ca 18-20 years ago

Not sure if I’m familiar about the video you’re referencing, but you are correct. It was a grey area with the S15 about when it was “allowed” and when it actually was stateside. Its presence was a well-kept secret, and when it became legal, Colton at Redline Restorations snatched it up! However, they were all in the US as competition cars well before the 25 year, US legal mark. - Steve

You guys flipped though the specs of the last car 1000hp 650 torque twin 3037 Peak boost 2.3? HUH? 890 CC injectors X6 on a 4 banger? Huh? I need more math or more research, something isn't right about this sheet. I guess that is why I had to pause a dozen times to see it.

Before you think I was complaining this car looked fast sitting still in a driveway! I loved it and though I want one and they killed it off before I afford it. I took my parents EXP GT and put a t1 on it and made it about a half mile before the timing belt snapped and the motor was toast, 13.000 miles in 1997. POS! BTW 225 stock and my turbo only pushed to 315 HP not a big leap yet I sold it as junk!

That spec sheet is for “0-300,” the first Mk4 Supra that Smokey built. It has an RB-26 inline-six cylinder from the Skyline GT-R. The car we have in the museum is “GT-300,” it was only ever rated as high as 800hp. We were just talking about Smokey’s previous builds and thought we should include some specs.
